I sent a non shooting 325 wsm in a model 70 to jes in oregon to be rebored to a 338-300 wsm. He said reboring would clean the barrel up this was one of the last ones to leave new haven whoever was in charge of the barrel making that day did not give a [bleep]. Why not rebarrel it to a 325 wsm again well i bought another model 70 in a 325 wsm (south carolina) Anyhow i know folks were having 338-300 wsm made thinking winchester would introduce it. Anyhow if anyone has load data for 210-225 bullets be pretty cool. I have RL 17, imr 4007, aa4350, imr 4350, h414, h4831 and imr 4831. Thanks!

Its looking like i will have to do the load work... Once i do i will post results as of now from what i read getting 2800 fps with a 225 will be hard to do. But most article or posts were written before rl17 and 4007 were on the scene. Most foljs were using rl15, h4831 in the 338 wsm.

I'd personally split the difference between the .338-06,.338 RCM and the .338 Win. Mag, and also compare to the .325 WSM, that should be right in the ballpark. I looked through all my sources and couldn't find anything.

I'd start with 325 WSM, 220gr bullet data and carefully work up from there.

alrighty. take this knowing it is a prediction and I assume you know the rules (work up and watch for pressure)
out of your powders, RE 17 should give best speed, and a 225 gr. NAB loaded to 2.85" COAL over 66 gr. RE17 (MAX) will deliver 2870 fps from 24" barrel at max SAAMI pressure(63817 psi). this load is RIGHT AT MAX!
i'd start at 64 gr. for 2790 fps @ 57409 psi

I built one of these ages ago after wearing out a couple of barrels as 338 Jamison. I did it when the first 300WSM came out and merely necked those up. Much easier for cases than the Jamison. All are basically the same with the Jamison having a bit larger powder chamber. Football game starts now so give me some time and I'll post as much info as I have on loads. Don't recall any right off hand. Makes a nice rifle!

hmmm. what version of QL do you use? mine is V3.6... my default case capacity (h20) for this cartridge is 66.419 gr. that's all I see different but our outputs differ quite a bit. my 'weighting factor' is .5 and the shot start pressure is 3636 psi. are those both the same default values as yours?
and how did you copy those charts here?

I set the powder lot variation at the lowest level, 3%, and in this instance used a 24" bbl (since that's what most short mags come with) I also up the usable capacity to 110%, and set .5 gr increments instead of the crazy % default if uses.
as for copying the charts, begin with the word code inside of [] end with [/] and the word code inserted after the slash.
Also QL gave a max pressure of just over 64k, so I back if off to 63.5K so the big list didn't show "dangerous do not use"
These are just a few things I've found to make the data more useful.
