Still trying to decide what to do with a mauser 98 action...I've seen ammo for this but never had a chance to fire one or run any over a chrony...I think it would be pretty cool, but not sure if the case would hold enough powder to do it justice. Anybody ever wring one out? Worth the bother or should I just go all the way to .375-.338 if I go big?

You might do a search on this one - it's been discussed before but maybe not recently.
I had a .375 Whelen Improved (along with a .338-06, .35 Whelen, .35 Whelen Improved, and a .411 Hawk). Looking back, it would seem there is no practical advantage the .375 (standard or AI version) would have over the standard .35 Whelen, but to look at things in terms of practicality is sometimes boring.
