Rick, not a problem. You answered my question and I appreciate it. U 'l do exactly as you suggested. There's no pitting anywhere, just some staining and discoloration. I like the original sheath but it's showing its years. The style of the new ones looks the same but I don't know about the maker.
Thanks for the good input. Sheath is as important as the knife. I would get L parson to copy the style and not have to worry it going thru and stricken me in the buttocks. Larry starts with the very best and splits down so you get a firm!!! tight grain. More than likely last the tools life.

Bob Loveless made his own sheaths. in his book he tells you how to do it. He had a straight stitcher to sew them up.

Mike a saw in a book unless I am mistaken at one point somebody in Arkansas made some sheaths for him. Know that I think about it Layton made some sheaths for him but it could have been something special order.

Here are a few more pics, better I think. They show the sheath. I was able to work with the seller a little more on price so I think it worked out well. dave
