Got my new BFR today, 6.5" .454 Casull. Not a great pic from my cell phone. Can't wait to take it to the range, but may have to. Snow forecast all day tomorrow.

I have some .45 Colts loaded for it. I'll slowly work my way up to Casull loads, but when I'm ready I'm wondering - can I use my .45 Colt dies to reload Casull brass?

And does anyone know of any good after-market grips? I've seen the Hogues and don't care for the way they look.

And oh yeah, the owners manual says BFR is for Big Frame Revolver. Who knew?

And why can't I post an image anymore? I copy the url from photobucket and paste it into the field for posting an image, but that's what I get.

I Don't know for sure but I believe you should be able to use your 45LC dies. You will definitely have to adjust them for the longer length.

They are very, very good pieces and deadazz accurate. FA level accurate and the extra bit of weight helps without question. My BFR is a 475L.

Clark, thanks for posting that but what did you do that I couldn't seem to get right? I used to post photos all the time but can't get it right since Photobucket changed their format.

And thanks for that info JPW, I figured I could do that but had never seen anyone say so.

Your link is to the page with the photo on it, not the photo itself (if that makes sense).

If you go to the link you posted with your picture, up in the top left there is a little icon that looks like a chain link. Click that and it will open a page with several options. You want to grab the one that says "Direct" and pop it in between the [img][/img] stuff...

+1 Mine too probably shoot mostly 480 Equivalent loads. Waiting for *line to get some more brass in. I have 475 and 480 both ordered. Going to send it off to have some things done to it.

Yep. I shoot 370's to 400's but none ever go faster than 1100 fps.

Nice rig. I've been getting interested in picking one of those up. Everyone who owns one talks of the accuracy of these guns. Well done!

Got to take it to the range today. I had loaded some max Ruger/TC load .45 Colts with 300 grn Hornady XTPs. The recoil felt like I was shooting cowboy loads. I like its sights and it was quite accurate. The trigger is just a little mushy, and I wasn't expecting that, but I don't think it will be enough to bother me.

So far, so good. I think I'm really going to like it.

From what I've heard the triggers do need some work. That's where guys like Jack H. come into play.

I have been pleased with my 6.5" 475L/480R. I never really intended to shoot much 475 Linebaugh with it, but I do have some ammo. I'm still buying factory loads and building up my brass supply. I have dies already.

I actually got totally away for reloading for years. Been heading in that direction more and more now. I just picked up a new single stage RCBS press and some other stuff. This is what happens when you move three or four times... stuff just seems to dissappear.

People that aren't familiar with them often think they are custom revolvers. They do have that look.
