Anybody have one of the Winchester/Miroku 52B Supergrade Sporter reproductions? I'll be picking one up after the first of the month; it's coming with either Burris or Leupold rings and bases (couldn't tell which) and 5 magazines. In very fine shape. Wasn't able to try the trigger, but the rifle looked to have been handled more than shot.

So, if you've got one, what has your experience been?

One of my favorite rifles. Mine is Utah Centennial model, 100UTxxxx, wish that I'd bought a couple of them. I had the Browning 52 Sporter, but never liked the monte carlo style stock, so when the Japanese made 52B came out, I bought one and sold the Browning.

The only thing that I don't like is the shape of the bolt handle that requires medium rings to allow the bolt handle to clear the ocular bell when you cycle the bolt. I replace my original bolt handle with a modified Winchester 52 handle so that I could mount my Leupold 6x Alaskan in low rings.

I have one also and like it very much, if you go to Rimfire Central they have a lot of post on these guns.

I was just wondering, which 52 bolt did you need to use to make the modification?
A, B, C, D, E, or do they have some of the repos around?

A friend of mine just bought one a month ago. He says it is a real shooter. He has a few very high quality 22's. He is very happy with it. He brought it over for me to look at it. Very nice. Tried it on a snap cap. Trigger was very good for a sporter.

I have 3 of these Repros by Miroku. 2 Brownings 1 Win.
You have to remove the "lawyer" pin from trigger to adjust properly.
However, will never be as good as my Pre"A" sporter..................I wish all my triggers were that good.

I have one of the earliest Winchester versions. Kind of plain wooded, but carries a Leupold 3X9 compact EFR using Talley bases and rings. I collect high end rimfires, mainly Kimber of Oregon, but have a few others like Cooper, Anschutz and original Winchesters, all of which I have shot, some a bunch. Mine is an absolute tack driver. If I had to sell all of my .22 rimfires, which is a bunch of guns, the last one to go would be my 52R. It's that good.

Mine is a Winchester. It is a fine rifle.

I have a 2001 repro Winchester 52B and the gun will shoot...better than me most of the time. I put a Weaver 6-24 fine crosshair scope on it. My father has a mid 90s Browning and both are lights out. You will quickly fall in love with it. Mine shoot everything good and for cheap ammo it loves Dynapoints.

I have one of the Japan 52 B sporters. Mounted is a Leupold rim fire in Talley rings and bases. I bought on the advise of a friend a brick of the Winchester T22 bullets and changed the trigger spring to make it about 2.5lbs. This rifle and bullet
combination will shoot one ragged hole off the bench at 75 yards.. I did go and buy a full case of those T22's.I think that case cost me $140.00 at the time. Thought I was being raped. Sure am glad today to be sitting on all those rounds. Love the gun!!!

+ 1 , The Winchester reproductions are one of the best kept secrets in the .22 shooting world. I would not buy one when they came out because they had 'Made in Japan' stamped on the barrel! I now own and shoot a Win Mod 52 HB that was done for Zanders Sporting goods, best most accurate .22 Ive ever shot, money cannot buy it .. very best

I just wished they had made it in Left Hand

I like mine quite a lot. Trigger as said is adjustable. Has a great full size rifle feel.

What bases and rings are most of you using with your 52B Repro?

I just picked up a Win 52B Sporter with Burris bases and rings, but I think I want to change them out.

Tom, if you do change them out, let me know. I've been looking for a set of the Burris or Leupold 52 bases and rings.

I like them a lot also. Still the best bang for the buck when it comes to high end rimfires. I had 7 at one time and down to these 3.

Two-piece Bases labeled for the Savage 110-family (accutrigger/round receiver) should also fit.

Older bases labeled for the Winchester 88/100 will fit (including the one-piece variety).

I had a 3 digit serial no. one when they were first released. Fair wood but sold it to buy a snowmobile.... dumb dumb dumb

I bought my Winchester 53B Reproduction for that specific reason, it felt like a fullsize rifle. I liked the nice Black Walnut wood, black accents, the flush bottom mag and the reason I chose the 52B over the 541S, reported accuracy and the reason I did not choose a 77/22.

I did the trigger work and shot bugholes with Federal Gold Medal Match for a few years. When Cooper introduced the 57M I sold it to TXRam hoping that if he ever sells it, I get first crack at it
