Great thread!
Companies like Vortex, that have unconditional lifetime warranties cost a little more, but mitigate the qc and durability worries because if the thing breaks or fails you can get a new one at no charge. Doesn't seem worth a little more money until you need to use it. Then it seems cheap.
Seems like minox is the choice right now for a value binocular not made in China. I certainly understand why anyone wouldn't want to aid the Chinese economy.
We have it great right now with fantastic optics at great prices! The market will force an increase in quality at some point.

One reason I'm starting to really like Meopta, besides awesome performance is that all of their products are 100% made by them, in their own facilities. Yes I agree totally. I'm eyeing their 6.5x32 for truck/house glass. I see they are making their own eye cups now. I am most curious about their "doubler" for my 10x42HD's. I can see a need for their spotter next year after the Shotshow too.
My home is the "sanctuary residence" for my firearms.

It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.
