I need to know if there is a way that I can cut a piece of tempered safety glass. I have a die grinder with a cut-off wheel that I'm thinking of trying. Any ideas are appreciated. Lightman

One cannot cut safety glass. The glass is originally cut to size and then tempered. You won't be able to use a scribe or any other diamond type tools, most likely any attempt to cut safety glass will result in the pane shattering into a multi-million pieces. sorry. Why do you need safety glass in particular?

The only way to cut or grind tempered glass is to get a new one. It'll shatter if you try.

Thanks for the replys. This was going to be for a shelf in a friends beer fridge. He measured it but failed to notice that his fridge was 1/2 inch wider in front than in back. Just trying to salvage $18 in glass. Thanks again, Lightman
