Obviously this is a big mcmillan website, but has anyone held or compared the manners EH1 to the Game scout edge? I'm ordering 1 of the 2 within the month. I want a vertical grip long action stock that I can get in the ADL format and I've narrowed it down to these two stocks.

Well, I'm real close to helping you out, but not quite
I have three Game Scout and 2 of the EH2 stocks. Looking at the EH1 it does appear similar to the GS. Prolly can't go wrong with either
I will say this, my last three Mcmillan stocks have had inlet problems and it has made me leery of ordering any more from them
Good luck with your decision

Say it ain't so! Bring that up on this website and you'll be crucified. At least by Neanderthal's who can't spell inlet...

Likely the wrong comb for open sights.

Likely the wrong comb for open sights. Something like that The ejection port was for a long action and it was a short action on the one a couple of months ago Guess people are building 20 Tacs on long actions

I've got an EH1 in house. It has a higher comb and heel than the Game Scout making it much more comfortable for me in prone. The forend is larger than the Game Scout, more comparable to the HTG.
I love the stock and feel like it will take off when more guys try it. For me, between the two, the EH1 would be a slam dunk. The traditional hunting shaped stocks (such as the Classic which the Game Scout is based on) don't cut it in prone, the heel is too low and pokes me mid shoulder.

thanks for all the info! The higher comb is whats turning me onto the EH1. I like mashing my cheek into the stock and there never seems to be enough rise without me adding something. The only thing I don't like about the eh1 is the wider forearm.. its the only aspect that keeps me from pulling the trigger, I like to be able to wrap my hand around a stock. We'll see, probably pull my hair out before I'm able to decide.

I might have to give an EH1 a try. Good to hear that the forearm isn't too wide. I don't mind the forearm on the HTG.

I can't say for certain but based on observations the EH1 has the same forend as the MCS-T (which is pretty much a HTG equivalent with a higher comb) and the MCS-T2 from the grip back.

The last McMillan I bought came in with the inlet splitting insude and the swirly finish was horrible. Several chips and air bubbles. I sent it back got xtra fill and it was OK. I believe I will try Manners my next go round
