Is there a difference accuracy, terminal ballistics wise between the two?
Both look identical to each other.

My exp is that the Sierra's tend to be more accurate but I'd shoot a deer with either one and not think twice.

Here are 3 consecutive groups using the 150gn Sierra BT in my Featherweight. Please note that the particular batch of 760 was very slow and I have never seen another that slow since.
150gn Sierra BT Win 760 3049fps .849" 5 shots same load 3078fps .842" 5 shots same load 3085fps .551" 5 shots
I also used the Speer BT with the same loads for similar groups but at that particular time, the Speer was a very soft bullet, though it killed deer sized game very consistently.
When I started handloading, the Speer was the hardest bullet of the big 4.

Used them interchangeably for years. The Sierra may have had a slight edge in accuracy but it was more a feeling than a fact. Neither one ever let me down. Only changed to Barnes because Calif required unleaded.
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor

I know the question was about BTSP but I have used the flat based version of both on deer, and the speer definetely held together better in my 30-06. The sierra was 1/4 inch better accuracy wise, but both very accurate with 52 of 4064.

The flat base is a Hot Cor, the boat tail is a conventional swaged core and jacket. The boat tail is deliberately of lighter/softer construction. So when the boat tail versions of the Sierra and Speer are compared, you may well find the results are reversed from the flat base comparison.

In my area and experience, the biggest difference is the availability of the bullets.
I don't know what the issue is, but Speer bullets have been far and few between for years now, and Sierra and Hornady have been in good supply.
My friend uses the 150gr Speer BTSP with very good results in his 308 so it requires some effort to get bullets for him at times.
I don't drink or Smoke. I spend my money on gunpowder and gasoline.
