Try www.jacksonrifles.com/ballistics.htmclick on pejsa ballistics.xls Just plug in the values in the left side, under input data (in blue on my screen)and push enter. Really fun to play with trying different combinations. It will show you how little difference there really is between simular projecticles at simular velocities - until you get on out there - 500 +.

Absolutely-- learn to work them yourself, as this is an important asset for any intermediate to long-range shooter, and very easily accomplished.

Of course trajectory charts are only a guide and can have substancial error.I have seen several inches difference at 500 yards with more than one bullet. This is because different bullet companies use different ways to calculate B.C.s ,and because of different climactic conditions other than temperature. The only way to know the bullet drop at a given distance is to actually shoot that load out of your gun at that distance. And even then that will vary with climate conditions.

Stubblejumper is exactly right - But the drop tables & computer programs will give you a good starting point, sometimes you get lucky and they are pretty darn close BUT there is NO substitute for shooting YOUR rifle, YOUR load (ammo) at the ranges YOU want to be able to hit AND various ranges in between. I like to know the "point blank" range - an arbitrairly selected max rise and fall of the bullet determines the "point blank" range, a lot depends on the game being hunted, and your skill holding "on" at the maximum "point blank" range.
