Sorta TIC, but a Browning in 9.3....? 9.3 screams Mauser or derivative...

Who cares. It's to good of a round to consign to action snobbery.
I think any synthetic fit for a mark X will work. McMillan does them.

I've been looking for a Vixen and end up seeing lots of Finn Bears. Now I got it in my head that a 222 and a 9.3x62 on matching Sakos with nice walnut would make me more awesomer than I already am......if that's possible.

Alright here's what's happening on Monday, my trusted model 70 featherweight 30-06, is first to get rebored, to see how it goes. It will get a 1.5x5 VX3 and will be my main hog gun. I am also looking at the mauser m12, but I want the optional open sights on it and the wooden bolt handle, so that will take a bit to accomplish but ill get it.
Check out Haenel Jaeger 1o Timber LX, type it in youtube, that's my favorite but not available in the US yet. Its made in Germany, in Suhl and belongs to the Merkel Family. I will try to import one, but that's in the future.
Thanks

The CZ 550 is a little heavy, but the fine shooting qualities of the cartridge make it worth it, I sure like my 550fs in 9.3X62. Sakos, Tikkas, and Rugers are all worth considering.

Dirt Farmer has a sweet CZ550 from AHR in 9.3.

Markus22 - a CZ550FS has a shorter barrel than the 550 American and would make a fine handling hog rifle. Plus, with open sights, QR mounts and the Mannlicher style stock (FS) just looks neat. Homesteader

My CZ 550FS is very accurate and a fine handling rifle. My mistake was passing on a McMillan that was in the classifieds awhile back. My other one is based on a commercial FN Mauser. My favorite rifle. You can get a new Nosler rifle in 9.3x62

+1. Just bought a stainless/synthetic 9.3x62. What's better than a stainless Mauser? ED, keep us posted on that rifle. I shot a lefty Zastava and thought it was a little crude in comparison to the CZ550 American I have. The stock didn't fit me for chit either. Yours is the synthetic stock version though (I presume). I like the idea of a stainless lefty mauser action though.. Will do. Yes, and a pretty decent stock as well. That said, when I moved to Oz I packed one of Mark's Mauser stocks, a lightweight Kebco pad, Talley LW's and a 6x FXII in the shipping container. The barrel profile is pretty lean going .6" at the muzzle. As is, it weighs a bit under 7#. Yes it is a bit rough, about like my SS Ruger 7x57 was, but a bit of elbow work and it will be fine. I am in Korea until early May so will work on it then. I am in the throes of planning my retirement gift, a grizz, goat and elk hunt in BC, and this will be the rifle that goes.

My first 9.3x62 was built on an FN. Cliff LaBounty rebored it, a 30-06, in 2000. It's first critter using the original 250 gr X. Here is it wearing wood that Karnis worked over. My second, bought in 2004, is this original Husqvarna also on an FN.

JES Reboring is a quick and easy way to get into 9.3x62. I sent him my M70 Classic .30-06 and it was back in my hands exactly 7 days after I mailed it. What type of rifling did you get?
Some shooting knowledge: Don't stand in front of the muzzle. Some hunting knowledge: Too much noise ruins the hunt.

I assume you finally made the switch to the left handed rifles though. The lefty Zastava 9.3x62mm (that I shot a while back) was pretty accurate and very light. It pounded you more than my heavy azz CZ ...The 9.3x62 is a cool round and quickly becoming one of my favorites..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

What type of rifling did you get? 3, 4, or 5 groove, cut rifling are the options.
