I was wondering if any of you have tried them out and how have they performed for you. My rifle already shoots sub moa with the Accubonds. I was looking at the possibilities of the LRX 145 grainer in my .280AI as being a alternate bullet choice for my rifle. I checked out the Barnes and Western Powders websites but didn't find any .280AI data. I would also like to find out if the LRX is a little longer than the TSX hence a higher B.C. and if you folks that are reloading them have found them to develop less pressure than say a Partition, Accubond or Interlock due to the driving bands. I'm also curious what affect this has had on working up loads for it and what kind of vels are you getting. Thanks in advance,
BD

No different than developing a load with a TSX/TTSX. Just shot a large cow moose with a 175gr LRX from my .300 WSM last week. Jellied the lungs and pulverized the opposite shoulder bone.

Congrats on the Moose Steve, and thanks for your input. Other than shooting a 84M .308 Winnie that doted on Barnes X bullets for which their was copious data, I have no experience with any of the TSX/TTSX bullets, hence my earlier questions. Are they longer than their cousins, have you also tried the bullets I listed above in your rifle and if so how did the LRX differ/compare to them? Thanks again, BD

No, I haven't tried any of the other bullets you mentionned and now that I think of it, the 175gr LRX are the only bullets I've tried in it so far. I bought it used before last year hunting season and went with the 175gr LRX right away. They are are bit longer than your average bullet because of the all copper construction but probably also because of the extra "sleakness". Here's a picture next to a 180gr SST.

Thanks for posting up the pic! It is a sleek looking bullet. I was able to find some load information in the Hodgdon 2010 annual manual for the AI and 150gr TSX's. I may need to get ahold of Barnes bullets directly to see if they may be able to help me out with some other load data recommendations. Thanks,
BD

I'm working with the 127 LRX in my ULA .260 now. It's just like any other load dev I've done with Barnes or any other bullet. Also shot some 120 TTSX today. Comparable accuracy and velocity given the weight of each.

I have just started using the 145 LRX in my 280AI and I power it with Vit N165 powder. So far accuracy out to 400 yards is excellent.
Enough already, just shoot it!

Not the 280AI, but to follow up on my previous post.....
I've since found the 127 LRX to be extremely accurate and it has performed perfectly on a half dozen whitetail from 258-511 yards at a start velocity of 2850-2900fps from a 260 Rem.
I've just barely started on the 145 in my 280. First groups were right around MOA on day one. With some more tweaking I'm sure I can cut that down a bit.

The LRX seems like the cream of the crop. I'd like to try the 129 in my 270 one of these days...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Oct 2012, I killed a 3x4 Montana mulie @ 500 followed by a very large cow elk @ 450 a couple of months later using the 127 LRX in my 6.5x47 running 2800 fps.
VERY accurate in my little -47.

What twist are you shooting with the 6.5 LRX?

I don't have a .280 AI, nor have I tried the LRX 145 gr. bullet, but I do own a .280 and have shot the various Barnes X bullets in it. The 140 gr. TSX that I tried out ran all the way to over 3100 fps. with something like 59 grs. of Ramshot Hunter. That is odviously too hot, so I cut the charge to 57 grs. Both loads shot in the .7-.8 MOA range. These bullets apparently do well with much the same powder charges as the conventional cup and core bullets do. None of the TSX's I've used in the .25-284, the .280 or the .308 have given me any problems developing under MOA loads. I'm not interested in the 145 gr. .284 LRX because the somewhat cheaper 140 gr. TTSX has almost the same BC. E

I'm running 145 lrx's over rl22 in my 7mm rem mag. @3150 fps.
I just worked this up last year and the load held it's accuracy out to 500 yards which is as far I have worked with it. I did take a pronghorn buck at 425 yards and a couple of whitetail does with it this year which were both just under 100 yards. The combo worked well on that game anyway.

I shoot them in my 280 AI Cooper as well as the 140 ttsx. RL22 powder. CCI BR or standard LR primers. 65.0 grains for the 140 and 63.5 for the 145. Point of impact is the same. Shot a buck with the 145 last year. Performance was the same as the 140 grain, but it was only 80 yards.
