I've seen 2 in my life. One brought in by a customer and shot a doe with one once.
IIRC thats a recessive gene from many centuries ago.
Muntjac? still carry them.

I too have seen one whitetail deer like that. Yup all the deer we've killed in Deep South Texas still have the tiny canines. Pretty cool throwback to those thrilling days of the Pleistocene.
