Just registered for the williamsport world open. Will be shooting my .300 Ultra in the heavy gun class and either the 6.5X284 or the .300WSM in the light gun. Havent shot in a 1000yd match yet this year so there is work to do. Dusted of the 6.5 this w/e and won the Shippensburge Pa. GH match. 6.5 is hammering so I may use it at Williamsport.

If yuo don't have a load yet for your 30 cals, I wouldn't wast any time with the Sierra 210 grainers. The have a lousy BC and shot 50 fps slower in my rifle than Bergers. I have switched to 220 SMKs, and I am getting 12-15" less drift at 1K with the 220s over the 210s, according to Sierra infinity.

I have a 1X11 twist in the .300..so i think 210 wont work anyway. I have had good results with 190 and 200 MK. I use H4350 and CCI Br primers. Still may use the 6.5 though as it's really shooting good with 140 gr Bergers and H4350. I can get 10 rounds down range quicker with the 6.5 also. Will be working with both of them this w/e.

Why do you think a 1-11 twist wouldn't handle 210's?

I got decent enough accuracy from the 210s in my 1x11, it's just their BC falls off so badly it makes them drift 10" more than a 220 grainer 150 fps slower, or a 200 grainer 100 fps faster.

I am currently shooting 220 grainers in the same 1x11 barrel. Last load development session yeilded this with new Rem brass at 100 yds. I think this will shoot at 1K:

Fed GM 210s:

61 grains: 2678 fps, ES 15, 11/16"
62 grains: 2713 fps, ES 15, .442"
63 grains: 2749 fps, ES 11, 1/2"

Didn't think I could push them fast enough to stabilize...but I have never tried them, so I guess I will have to.

lefty,

I actually asked around before I went with the 1x11s. Other guys have used the 220s in the 1x11 with great results. I have a load now, and I'll see how it does at 1K next Sat. At 100 yds it gave me a 5-shot 1/2" group at 2738 with an ES of 11. With unfired brass last weekend that load gave me a 1/2" group with an ES of 11. Given new brass shoots so well, I am thinking of shooting my 30ish sorted but unfired cases in heavy Gun next Sat so I can get them fireformed.
