Most blade historians believe it to be so. Just picked up this NYK Co./Hammer Brand. New York Knife, to knife nuts, is pretty much top of the heap. Please forgive me if I sound kinda, well......... ecstatic They are HARD to find in this good of shape without paying through the a$$. I can honestly say that factory pocket knives don't get no better than this. This knife is right about 100yrs old and still functions perfectly. You can vaguely see what is left of what was once maybe the coolest blade etch ever. The NYK arm and hammer. 2nd pic, main blade. look closely. NYK Co. jigging was absolutely second to none IMO. The knife history involved with NYK Co. is pretty fascinating stuff if you like that kinda thing. They were quite simply HIGHLY respected cutlers and their products were revered for good reason. Anyhoo, enjoy....

Not as big as you like them. 3 3/8" I think.
I have another NYK or 2 that are MUCH larger, but not as pretty. A Maher & Grosch (I know you dig those) that NYK Co. made also.....

That's a nice one. Those old well made pocklet nives are hard to come by in good shape like that. I have started a huge thread on the Bladeforums ,a ways back ,but it became so popular. Mostly my posts showing knives from a friends collection, and so many others added This picture is in there & all these are NYK Co's ,I think each one of these knives is posted individually with detailed pics & descriptions. Third from left , the whittler ,one of my fav's Fourth from left Far right,I do believe, pretty rare

A few I pulled out of a drawer last night............ At least 3 of these were made NYK Co. I'd say. One is marked NYKC and the others Maher&Grosch and Marhall Wells, respectively:
