This is a great thread. Let's keep it going with more pics of some nice old Winchester model 70's. Here's my latest: A 1981 XTR fwt 270win. I bought it a couple weeks ago and it was never fired by the original owner. Factory fired and still had the packing grease in it and original box. Don't worry guys, I took care of the firing part the other day. I'm sure I'll take it on many more range sessions and probably even a few hunts:

Scoped with an older American made Burris FFII 3-9x40 with ballistic plex reticle in Leupold dual dovetail gloss low mounts and rings. After consulting with 79s here, I decided to snag this one.

Cool looking rifle bsa, I like the mounts.

Here's one I've been playing with. A supergrade Win. 70 in 338 WM.
It's ser. # G166XX, anyone know the approx. date of manufacture?

It's a nice shooter with the 210 TSX's but I haven't had any luck with the partitions...210's or 250's. Yet.....
Scoped with a Burris 3x9 E1.

I bedded the lug, tuned the trigger and it doesn't show in the pic but I've since installed a Williams extractor.

Very nice rifle Sendero. Looks like an excellent shooter too. 5 digit classic is probably a '92-'93 DOM rifle.

Another low comb. This is a 220 Swift that I picked up in Kalispell at the March gun show. It was made in 1951 and I prefer pre 1952 guns, if I can get them. Still the later low comb guns are keepers. It has the Lyman All American 6X scope on it and although I like later scopes, I am going to see if this will work well enough to keep that vintage scope on the gun...

I look forward to seeing those "baby dolls". I mean the rifles, not the feet/toes laugh

No toes, but not the best photos, 52' std SS barrel 220 Swift with a 10X unertl vulture, I plan on shooting this on side by side with a 59' swift in the Varminter that is a tackdriver, This gun was bought by a long time 70 guy new in 52, scoped and zeroed and sat in a safe till I bought it. the fellow got very old and knew it was time to pass the guns on. I hope I know when that time comes, I hope this one can go into the 'Do not sale' safe! very best WinPoor

Thanks, Hornet. The .375 supposedly has been fired 12 times, which believe from its condition.

Guys I am anything but a braggart BUT i I am very proud, I worked very hard 7 to 9 mos a year sunup to sundown cropdusting and running a biz + cattle, I would buy myself a gun a year, I traded thru many to get here and it took well over 40 years to put these together.

Winpoor, you have a great, and well earned collection! What is the rifle that is 3rd from the Right? I dig the tiger stripes!

Cheers,

Eric
