Campfire News

Flash! Were going to press! Im Hardy Bivalve for CNN (Campfire News Network).

Mutual cooperation between nations yields large dividends!

Based on advice by the various international members of the 24 Hr Campfire, Remington Arms will merge with Kalishnikov to form a new weapons consortium Remingtonishnikov Arms.

It will be headquartered in southern Russia. Their first product will be the RK-700, a fusion of eastern and western technology. It is an autoloading rifle with a so-so trigger, faulty bolt design and a poor quality plastic stock. Despite the quality of the build, no lawsuits are expected.

[Linked Image]

It will be chambered in 7.62x39mm and 7.62x54R, produced in the millions, and given away for free to poorer nations like Benin, Burundi and Canada for their armed forces.

Flash!

24 Hr Campfire Influences its European Partners

CIP (Commission Internationale Permanente des chasseurs handicapes) outlaws magnum rifles and cartridges. CIP declares their use a waste of energy. Charles Gros Balourdes dismissed them as being of no value for all the noise they make. The French have always been in the forefront of arms and cartridge design. Magnums arewell...very Unfrench!

Montana to be given to Tennessee as part of the Presidents Civil War reparations.

The President told CNN reporters that based on consultations with US citizens, some of whom are 24 Campfire members, too much was seized by the north after the civil war was over. "Its only fair and way overdue I think." a spokesman was quoted as saying.

Tennessee residents were happy that a permanent home could be found for Captain Triumph. "When he wuz alive, he loved huntin' thar."

Two things you left out:

A .30-'06 can't kill a deer without a premium bullet, and the .243 is a magic death ray.

You can't hit anything using a BDC scope reticle, you have to twist knobs to hit past 300 yards.

Douglas barrels are not worth buying except NULA rifles are the best and they wear Douglas barrels.

.270's suck
WSM's suck but SAUMS are pretty cool.
.280's are far superior to .270's, .30-06's and .308's
.223's are too small for deer
.223 AI's are excellent for deer
7mm-08's are far superior to 7x57's
7x57's are far superior to anything else smaller than .375 (I alread knew this)
6.5's are even better than 7mm's
The only rifles that don't seem to suck are Sakos, providing they aren't chambered in .270 or a WSM.
Leupolds suck
Nikons suck
Burris's suck
Bushnells suck
Only S&B and Nightforce don't seem to suck
The only bullets you need are Barnes X's
The only bullets you need are Nosler Partitions
The only bullets you need are Hornady Interlocks
Then only bullets you need are Core-Lokts, .30-06 Core-Lokts that is.
Nosler Ballistic Tips are excellent deer bullets, they are the only ones you need.
Nosler Ballistic Tips blow up on deer, you should never use them.
Some bullets way over penetrate on deer, this is a bad thing
Some bullet boxes are smarter than some people
.41 Magnums are better that .44 Magnums, which, of course, suck.
.45 Colts are better that .44 Magnums, which, of course, still suck.

.223 AI doesn't mean at all what I thought

Cheers Y'all.

Reading early years post I came away with the opposite impression. Need a new scope look no further than Leupold. They are the best built, brightest and lightest. Oh...an extra ounce in your scope will kill you on the trail. Another invaluable lesson I have learned is an objective lens diameter larger than 36mm is a complete waste of money and energy carrying it.

Montana to be given to Tennessee as part of the Presidents Civil War reparations. Weeeel now - this is interesting. Many of us are unreconstructed anyway so this is just a bonus. We will certainly take the good hunting property. All the da*m liberals can be deported to Canada. Seems alot of the current population can stay. One feller that can write from there likes guns and shooting. The one that likes socko's and blowin guns up would fit in just fine with my uncle - especially after a litle drankin. I like that feller 'flave who dranks and shoots gfy rifles. The one with the strange thongs must be ok 'cause I have a 7x57 and love dogs too. This aqusition will make us the largest state in the Union - being that we already own Texas because us Tennesseans run the Mex govment out and formed the state anyway. As soon as I get my huntin rig off the blocks I will send up some boys to claim some good road shootin areas.

I always thought that 757 shooters were Fat Aged Guys! Thus the acronym [bleep]! smile

Or is that .270 shooters?

1B, you've been here 13 years, what did YOU do?

GH, since I'm one of the people in question, I prefer FOGs (besides, some younger guy actually used it in reference to 7x57 shooters).

It's not just scopes. Don't forget the importance of the weight saved and excessive length eliminated by using a short action rifle instead of a long action. I'm surprised they still make 30-06s...

...a very good summary.

well, it's not even close to 10 years--in fact it's only been about 3 1/2 years.

in reflection, i might venture that what i've learned is that:

"everything is 'more complicated' than it needs to be..."

all learning is like a funnel:
however, contrary to popular thought, one begins with the the narrow end.
the more you progress, the more it expands into greater discovery--and the less of an audience you will have...
