I'll give a hearty +1+ to Kevin's post and it's only the start. If it were not for Israel raid on Sadam's reactor the world would be a different place if still here. Israel is a nation and a people I admire.

I am essentially neutral in respect of Israel, Palestine, the Middle East and all of the bullschitt that goes on there, EXCEPT anything which threatens or compromises Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the USA, the ONLY nations I really give a rat's azz about. I mentioned some of the unacceptable situations concerning Israel, the Zionists and Canada, I am not going to belabour the point. I DO NOT want Canada OR The Commonwealth to be called to defend Israel or any other Zionist entity under any circumstances and that is my entire point.

I can respect your views...I'm real tired of the Middle East in general.
I really don't see a situation where we would put troops on the ground in defense of Israel because they are an overwhelming force in the Middle East. We back them up as a voice of reason in the most screwed up part of the world (they think co-existence vs. extermination is reasonable) and us "colonies" back them up pollitically. The US backs up or pollitical talk with promises to fight for them if it ever came to that, but when they almost lost everything in 1973 we sat it out so the conflict didn't lead to WWIII (The Soviet's mobilized to move into the Middle East because they knew we were supposed to back Israel. Nixon told Breznev he'd nuke them if the moved on the Middle East. As a result, we sat it out)
Where conventional war is concerned, the Arabs have learned their lesson, so it's just not a likely scenario that "Canadian boys" will be fighting for the Zionist cause.
