Nice pictures Lewis, especially the ones taken in the C-130!! That bird is a little newer than the ones I practically lived on in Viet Nam in 1967 to 1970!!
Got any more pics of the Herky Bird??

Yes they did. I hope they appreciate the step up from D300's to full frame D810's
To soon to tell how they will work out. I have had a personally owned D800 since they came out. Incredible colors and tone. Even more impressive files sizes If you are moving into 36MP RAW full frame from crop frame 10-15MP then go ahead and buy a USB3 card reader and a computer that can move that kind of data around. The 5 fps is kind of slow for sports, you have to get your timing right.
Oh and I have a file on my desktop named "anyone can take good photos with a pro camera" that contains crap. The latest works are taken with the D810 and a $2000 Nikon lens. With $5000.00 in his hands the guy turned in four portraits taken at four feet outside in good light. And there is not a thing in focus in the photos. Nothing. I would have to look at the settings in the exif data at the office, but I remember wondering how anybody could come up with that combination of shutter speed, f stop, and ISO.
Check back in a few months and we will see how it is going.

This was at Fort Bragg's Hedrick Stadium. About 7500 boots and flags were placed each representing a service member fallen since 9/11. The boots were marked with the name and photo of the fallen solider.

Keeping watch. An MP patrols the Fort Bragg Children’s Fest April 25, 2016 The Children’s Fest is a safe and family friendly event held every year on Fort Bragg. I take that first photo to mean that the AR pistola things are validated. Actually it goes back to 1979. Those are Firing Port Weapons. special built to fire from inside a closed up Bradley Fighting Vehicle. where the M-16 was to long to use inside and the Bbl to short to swing much of an arc outside the port. I Remember hearing about them at the time. I have never seen one before. The M4 has long rendered the Firing Port Weapon moot.

I've always loved your shots...but those Cheap Trick ones bring back memories. Back in college, a couple of friends and I went to a concert and ended in something like the third row. Both friends were female and one was blessed up top, and Nielsen decided to flick some picks at her blessings. I was excited for the free souvenirs, she was not so much. He was like a ninja with those things. I remember his mike stand was just studded with picks up and down. That reminds me I need to give her a call to see if she still has her picks.

I always like the sharpness and clarity of the images you post. The light and shadow in the last boxer image is real nice. Thanks, sometimes the light falls right. That was the worst lit boxing, in fact, any sporting event I have ever shot. Four lights strait down in the center of the ring, and no other lighting. Step out of the center, because well its a fight, and you stepped into a cave.

I don’t always take good photos, but sometimes I get to take important ones. SFC Harry L. Ettmueller, USA (Ret) was captured in the battle of Hue on 05 February 1968. In 1973 after 1857 days of captivity he was released during Operation Homecoming, the return of 591 American prisoners of war held by North Vietnam. He was visiting Fort Brag as part of the AFVN (American Forces Vietnam Network) reunion. Command Master Chief Joe Ciokon USN (Ret) covered the Vietnam War during the 1968 TET Offensive as a broadcast journalist and photographer. His photographs show the Viet Cong dead inside the American embassy compound in Saigon. He was also in the building next door to Beirut Marine Barracks on October 23, 1983 when a Hezbollah truck bomb destroyed it killing 241 American service personnel.

Hi guys Something is wrong and I cant figure it out. For some reason I see X's instead of my photos. On home and work computers I still dont see all the photos. In fact I dont see most of the photos. MAC's and windows systems. locations 70 miles apart logged in or not I get the same results.
Can anyone see all the photos?
Let me know.

Thanks, Suspected as much. After consulting with Rick I think the host site broke some , but not all of the links.
I will probably just drop this. It would take a few days of work to replace all of the missing photos that I put up a few at a time over the last couple of years.
