Are any of you using or have personal experience with a Tavor?

You should buy one, (hehe) and let us know.
I would love to have a one, but the problem with all bull pups is the high price. If they were a grand or less I might have one. I am not talking about CIA's either.

What do you like about them over a standard AR15?

Well they are very short-26" oal with a 16" barrel; of course that is a bull pup characteristic. The big time internet reviewers give them very high marks(MAC, Nut n fancy, Hickok 45, Miculek, Fortier, and others). The obligatory cons seem to be less than stellar trigger and not as dead accurate as a typical 'good' AR. Handiness, reliability, ar pattern mags, compactness, combat proven, easy stripping, barrel change kits, and Star Wars cool seem to be their strengths. Seems like it begs for a red dot sight to make it an ideal homeland defense rifle. Anyway I will know more soon.

PH said it all for me. I am too lazy to type that much on an ipad, lol.
I think they would be handy as heck getting in and out of a vehicle, poking around rooms and such. Getting the most out of (velocity) the little 556/223 round with the extra barrel length would be a big plus.

I put 60-90 round through one a few months ago, nothing really stands out. I didn't feel the "wow" factor.

I only looked at it, tried the trigger and wow another bullpup 223, never seen this idea come and go before.
