Stopped by the LG on the way home today and they had a Tikka M595 whitetail hunter--blued metal--plastic stock--Swift 4-12 scope and original box. It is a 7-08. Looks nearly new.
Had it priced $550 out the door.
Good rifle?
Good deal?
don't really need a 7-08 but could be talked into it.

They are very good rifles. IMO better than the current offering from Tikka. I have a 695 in .25-06 that I love. They ARE heavier than the current offering but, I believe they are better quality. That's not a bad price either.

595 SA...695 LA precedes the T3's

About 1# heavier...same Sako barrel...

Same great trigger..magazines will not exchange with T3

595/695 mags are scarce & pricey....if its still there..

buy it...put a better scope & rings & use it..great rifle !

Much prefer these to the T3 strictly on feel and aesthetics. That's a good all around gun that you can use for nearly anything in the lower 48 and not feel bad about beating it up.

Coach, if you decide you do not want it, I would appreciate a shot at it. Thanks, and good luck. Great rifles.

Had one - sold it. Handled and shot pretty good, but is noticeably heavier than the T3 I replaced it with.

Had the LA version as well, in 280 Rem. Sold it, too....

Still have a 595 wood stocked walking varminter in 22-250. Shoots great.

The 595/695 series rifles are wonderful quality - the bolt action is smoother than most any other standard rifle you will run across.

I'd suggest handling it a bit before you plunk down the cash for it. If you can get past the weight, they are a nice rifle.

Regards,

Tom
