As a general rule there are no Vortex demos, however, at the beginning of the year we posted the following and I have edited down the list to show what is still available.
Some riflescopes posted on this list are scopes that were shipped out and returned for various reasons (wrong reticle, changed mind, wanted a different power, etc) but they have not been mounted. Please feel free to call Neil or Doug @ 212-753-5128 with any questions or to purchase one of these Vortex items.

Vortex Display/Demo Product Sale

We are cleared out our 2012 display case in order to freshen it up for the new year. Every year we put new goods on display and sell off the existing display. These products are never out in the field as they are from our in store showcases and only handled gently here in the store. We have all the original boxes and accessory items that come with them and all are covered by the Vortex VIP warranty.
These demo/display opportunities will not be on our web site as we only have one and in some cases two of each item and we feel they will sell quicker than our web builder would be able to update our site. If I find $1750 on the ground this week, I'd love to call and order those Victory HTs 10x42. Great deal for someone with the cash to burn.

I know this is a few months old, but I am considering buying a Vortex Diamondback demo from Cameraland. Sounds like the majority of folks are happy with what they've received.

I've bought two binoculars (Zeiss Victory HT 10x42 and Swarovski EL 8x32 SV) and two rangefinders from Camerland, (Zeiss PRF & Leica 1600B) all demo units except one of the binoculars. All the demos looked new and performed as new.

Absolutely 1st class service and great prices.

I bought a demo unit Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24mm for my AR. Doug could have sold it as new full price and I would have never have known.

Be careful, Doug and Camera Land can get you in trouble with the spouse!! Great service and Great deals makes you want to spend $$$

I've purchased from Doug's demo products and I've purchased new scopes and binos from him. In every case the demo units appeared to be N.I.B.. Neither Doug nor Neil will quibble with your if you are unhappy with you purchase; they will go far, far, far beyond what I consider their obligation is to insure they keep you/me as a satisfied customer. When I do buy from Doug I know I'll end up with a an optic that is at least worth what I paid for it, and sometimes worth more than what I paid for it; I could flip an optic from the demo list and put it on eBay and get more than I paid for it.

I went ahead and ordered a demo Vortex Diamondback because of the positive responses in this thread. If I'm as satisfied as you all are, I'll be spreading the word.

Just received a "DEMO" Vortex 20X56 Binos from Doug and they appear NEW! It would be hard to tell they were ever removed from the box!

I have lost track of how many demo units I have bought but all were better than described and hard to tell from new!

I have bought a few demos from Doug and Neil and they appear to be brand new. I have purchased a used scope from a private individual and Neil helped me straighten out the manufacturer.

I bought one demo from CL that had ring marks and it looked like someone took pliers to the threads on the turrets. Doug took it back without question. Glad to hear others are getting like new optics with demo buys. I've only went with new since, but may take advantage of the lower prices of the demos in the future.

I bought some Demo Zen-Ray ED3 binoculars from Nail at Cameraland. I cannot tell it from a brand new one. good stuff

I've bought a Zeiss binocular and two scope "demo's" and the only thing I could see was that it looks like the boxes MAY have been opened at one time or another.

I've bought at least 5 demo scopes and all have been 'as new'

Didn't buy a demo but last month bought the MeoPro that is on sale. When I received it I realized I wanted one with the German #4 reticle. Called Neil and he did an exchange. This post is actually about Neil. I've dealt with him quite a bit more than I have with Doug. Neil is fantastic, not that Doug isn't. It is a real pleasure to deal with him.
