I have a card for a Cabela's Friends and Family promotion this weekend in which the employee discount is offered. From what I can gather, the discount varies by product and you don't know what it is until checking out. Anybody know what it might be on the Cabela's Euro HDs? Thanks.

Probably just a small amount, just enough to get you excited.

They're a house brand so their profit is quite high but I would be surprised if you get even a 10% discount on them.

I have one of the cards, and I asked the optics department dude last week. I was told 10% too.

Thanks all. 10% won't even get the 10x42s down to what B&H has them for, and they just raised their price by $20.

I was just there this weekend asking same question. Guy said it will be at least 10% on Optics and maybe a touch more on the Cabela's branded stuff. I will be using points and need to decide if I want the Euro HD 10x42, or the Viper HD 10x42 and half a VX6 2-12 on the points. Really like the Euro's but that Viper is not bad and I would love to get a VX6 after looking through one. Only have $1200 in points and not enough cash to get the Euro and VX6. Decisions, decisions......

B&H Photo Video (I assume). They carry the Meopta (OEM) version.

Yes, B&H Photo. Cabela's Euro HD = Meopta Meostar HD. They're $1200 at Cabela's and $1070 at B&H (were $1050 a week ago).

I went today to find out what the discount amounted to. With the discount, they are $1020, which is 15% off. But, the only one they had was the display. The guy at the counter said inventory is showing two and that likely meant they were logged in with the freight but couldn't be sold until they were brought out to the optics counter.

If it is a Cabelas brand you can be looking at up to 25%, 10% would be the minimum.
You can always, have them check the price and discount at a point of sale.

The guy at the counter said inventory is showing two and that likely meant they were logged in with the freight but couldn't be sold until they were brought out to the optics counter. I went in and got mine last night. Had a last minute crisis whether to get the Euro HD, Viper Razor, or Viper HD and in the end I went with the Euro HD 10x42. Just seemed to fit my eye a little better. If I had never looked through the Euro, I would have bought the Viper HD in a heartbeat though. Price was $1020 and I was able to use points for it, otherwise I definitely would have gone with the Viper HD. Not a bad discount but overall I wasn't overly impressed with the savings on name brand stuff. Better than full price but not enough to get me off the fence on a lot of items and the employee discount did not get applied on top of sale prices. It was the better of the two.

If I buy high end, it will be Leica or Swaro. Just me.
