Funny. The dirtbags can't understand why the guardsmen would care enough about "a piece of cloth" to come and collect it. They don't understand that there is a good chance that each of those guardsmen likely have friends who came home draped in that "piece of cloth".

Of course it is just like a $100 bill is just a piece of paper.
It's far more than that.

You're wrong. It is sadly also their flag. The same flag some of us have bled for. But the black community feel betrayed by their own country. And weary from so many of theirs who wound up dead at a young age, many of them victims of our war on drugs.

interesting, I got a folded up flag from my grandson today, for my birthday. It was carried on board for over 140hours of test flights at edwards afb. I think that was rather special, certainly to me. Piss on these people that seem to think it's okay to desecrate a flag.

"...all enemies, foreign and domestic..."
I see it simply as the latter self-identifying.

The "Children of Ham" have betrayed themselves. Those who understand their history understand this.

At this juncture, they have themselves to look to for answers.
I have three of those "pieces of cloth" in my house; one from my Air Force retirement, one from my father's funeral, and one from my father-in-laws funeral. I won't tolerated our American flag being disrespected in any manner.

For me, the comment that its "just a piece of cloth" symbolises the divide of a nation..And I know which side I would be on..
Kudos to the Guardsmen for serving and showing the respect that they did...

Whatever
No offense intended or taken, Amigo but you've evidently missed my point, and I sure as Hell don't get yours!
No offense intended.
To me, the $100 is just a piece of currency. It holds no significance to me other than what I can turn $100 into. It's trade fodder, no more and no less.
The flag is a symbol of the Constitution, of what this nation is SUPPOSED to be and mean. It is a memorial to all those who fought under it and for it, all those who died trying to reach it, and all those who have been liberated/saved by it. It's a reminder that there are still many out there in harm's way, every day, fighting and dying because of an oath and loyalty. And, it's still more than that.
I think you get all that, and the "more" that I mean. I hope you understand why the $100 bill is just and only that.
