As soon as I purchased a K31, I thought it would be great to take a deer with one! I rigged this one up with the Swiss products offset mount, Burris signature rings and a Leupold vx2 Canadian 3-9, which fit the rifle nicely. My load was ppu brass, rl17 powder pushing a 165 interlock at 2650 fps. Quite accurate In this gun. The bucks were moving a bit. I saw a couple smaller bucks earlier in the morning. The afternoon I was fortunate to have this guy take off across a trail where I was set up. He headed into some thick aspen at a full run, I shot once and the deer changed direction a bit. I cycled the nice Swiss action quickly and fired again. I could not see the deer, or hear him. Waited a bit and walked into the aspen . The first shot grazed his neck, the second was a good hit, he dropped and slid to a stop. Did not look like he thrashed around so it happened quick for him. He also had a bad flesh wound to one shoulder, so I hope I ended any suffering he may have been enduring. Here are a few pics of him, and the K31. It was a tough hunt this year. Deer were not moving as they usually do during the rut. Hope you enjoy the pics. Craig

Very nice buck and a classy rifle. Don't you just love those straight pull K31s.

Thanks for the nice comments! I really do enjoy the k31, beautiful rifle. The details in the machining and function are exceptional.
The 7.5x55 round is a wonderful cartridge.
Taking the deer with that old rifle meant a lot to me this year.

Very nice! Thats a good looking buck and rifle. Where did you pickup the K31? I was eyeballing them online the other day, neat looking riflei. Your right about the deer this year, they really seem to be sparse compared to just a few years ago.

Awesome buck and very cool rifle. I shot a K31 for the first time this past weekend. Extremly smooth action. I will definitely be shooting it more and after seeing this post want to hunt with it.
Congratulations!

Very nice MB, heck of a Buck.!
I've got a K-31 that I carry sans the scope. Definitely an overlooked cartridge.
Mine isn't a matching numbers gun, but it will shoot 1.5" groups all day long..
Nice to see the classics still out there...
