Looking to buy my nephew a Cheap Shotgun for Duck Hunting. He wants something in Camo, of course. If it was for me, I would choose an 870, but it's for him. He's allready has an 870 20ga and wants something different.

Narrowed it down to the Winchester SXP, Mossberg 590, and the Benelli Nova. Help me out with your opinion of those three choices?

If you're gonna buy a benelli, buy a BENELLI. An SBEII. That said the Winchester SXP is a darn good gun for the money

I personally hate the "feel" of the Nova, but like I said, it's not for me. I was heavily favoring the Winchester SXP, before I posted this. But since I'm mainly a Remington guy, that's why I asked for the Campfire survey of who used and liked which of those three choices.

Yep. I'll buy him a much better shotgun when he graduates TAMU. His idea of duck hunting consists of him and his HS buddies puddle jumping stock tanks on farms and ranches.

Nova with the SXP some distance behind... the Mossberg cannot quite be seen back over the horizon from the other two.

I don't know about the new Mossbergs but mine made in the 80s just keeps on going. That gun has done it all without a hitch.

If he wants a new and something different then a Nova, Mossberg, or Weatherby?

I don't see why a 870 that he currently has won't work unless he wants a 12 gauge and I would still recommend the 870 or Mossberg over any of the others.

Yep. He wants a 12ga. Duck hunting loads for 20ga are super hard to find here in N. Texas.
