That was the UMP in 10MM (Universale Maschinenpistole) vs the MP5, I had used a 40 S&W version that was a great "tool". It was a modular weapon system so it broke down fairly easy. Very accurate and a joy to shoot with the collapsible stock. Slower rate of fire for a full auto but it did fine by me! The UMP was the next generation of the MP5.
HK had produced the USC (Universal Self loading Carbine) for civilians to purchase and they could have been made into a UMP if you paid the NFA Tax. Unfortunately HK stopped selling them to the general public. No, he's right. They made an MP5 in 10mm. Dubbed the MP5/10 it was made for the FBI and I believe DOE's NEST teams used them Very cool, didn't realize they made the MP5 in that caliber? I loved it in the 9mm version especially on full auto. The UMP feels "cheaper" to me but is still a sweet shooting sub gun!

I bumped into the 5rd Magazine limit. What 5rd magazine limit are you referring to? Is that for hunting in Oregon?

I seem to remember seeing a T/C Contender Carbine barrel in 9mm if a single shot would work for you. If not, there's this: http://www.armslist.com/posts/3683969/michigan-rifles-for-sale--colt-9mm-carbineDMc

The Beretta isn't as cheap as the Hi-Point, but it works very well, and is very accurate. I think it is ideal for home defense, and is certainly a hunter. I've seen many 5-shot groups at 100 that go 2 inches with several handloads, and a red dot. The trigger is the only thing that sticks out for me as a gripe. Beretta mags are almost as prolific as Glocks. My brother and I have run many thousands of handloads through his. Nary a single failure. It does fine with +P+, though I don't think the spring is built for it. Speed does increase a bit over a handgun, particularly with slower powders, and I recall about 15% over a 5" Beretta 92 with same loads. 1200 with a 147 cast fp is a hammer!

If I was out Shed hunting while packing a Semi Auto Rifle and Saw a cougar, It would be Illegal in Oregon to Shoot if the Magazine held more than 5 I bumped into the 5rd Magazine limit. What 5rd magazine limit are you referring to? Is that for hunting in Oregon?
