The 210 ABLR should be a long bullet, maybe long enough to touch the lands in a .300 Wby. But, I doubt such a round would fit in the mag box. That's what's so nice about the .300 WM with a full 3.6" mag box. You're free to do what you want with COAL.

Don't know about ABLR's, but in my guns, VLD's seem to shoot best with jump, some with a lot of jump. If I was working up a load with those bullets in the .300 Wby, I'd probably shoot a 400 yd. Audette for the powder charge, then try the Berger protocol for COAL.

Noted, great info. This is the first Weatherby I have played with, so maybe we will try running a ladder to see what works. Not sure if I can get to 400 but I think I could get to 300 to work it.

Gunner, I am glad you like that RL17 load in your 348. I won't use anything else in mine to be honest. Those 250 Woodleighs seem to work excellent, speed and accuracy are both there as well.

300 yds will work with an Audette, just less spread between hits. Check out this modified Audette developed by Rick (rcamuglia). Works quite well. You'll need a hand press to seat bullets at the range. I use a Lee that I found on Ebay.

Great intel DF. I'd give it a try. I have always wanted to try the prepped and charged cases at the range, but never done it, maybe I'll give it a try. I do have an extra set of 300 Wby dies as well. That way I won't have to mess around with the set for my Forster.

All you need is the seater die in the hand held press, pre-adjusted to the optimal COAL.

With the 26 Nosler, I don't think I could FL size those big, tough cases with that press, not enough leverage. Seating is another issue.

Gotcha, makes a ton of sense. Just might try it with this rifle.. It is cheap enough to try anyhow. I think a Lee hand press is about 30.00.. Hard to go wrong there.

And, you don't really need two sets of dies. Just screw the seater die in the Lee hand press on your way to the range, setting the COAL before you leave the shop.

Okay, understood that. This might be a great way to save some fuel as well.. That stuff might be getting a little cheaper, but it isn't cheap!
