Guys I have a mod 70 Sporter Varmint, 26" med heavy .308 that will drive nails with both the 155 Lapua senars or a lot of rem 168gr SMK match ammo. Very nice gun that is a great starter gun for the want to be precision shooter. I hate to let her go but I must make room! 800 to your door in lower 48. I will post photos and targets. very best WinPoor

How does it shoot with ammo in grey or green/yellow boxes found at Walmart? You know, hunting loads from Winchester or Remington.

I have no idea as I was able to buy a couple cases of the match ammo for a dollar a round so I did not fool with the other ammo? winpoor

Mr Slavek, I try not to waste time and bandwidth answering your BS questions or comments as I cannot for the life of me understand why you visit the Winchester collector forum to run these good folks Winchesters down or tell us how great your other guns are but Im going to waste a minute to say that some of the best ammo Ive ever run thru SOME pre 64 Winchesters were the very cheapest Rem cor loks, or yellow then grey box Winchester super X, and even the cheaper federal ammo. I usually let the gun tell me what it likes, I also use match ammo that I was able to buy "RIGHT" meaning a buck a pop as "baseline" ammo to compare rifles . I am set up to reload but have found that Factory ammo is so good these days that I can hardly top it!I guess Im to lazy! Rather than BS with you on this site, and Im usually a real nice guy Im going to give you a good ole GFY ,end of story. the very best WinPoor
