I just picked up a BRNO ZBK 110 in 22 hornet. The rifle is from an estate of a small gun dealer and new as in never sold but I believe produced in 99 according to a stamp next to the proofmark. It was $91-and I couldn't pass it up LOL. I picked up its twin in 222 as well for my boy.
I'm curious if anyone is familar with these. I'm looking for a scope base to fit it. Looks like it takes a special one piece mount. I'd appreciate any leads as well as thoughts on the rifle itself. Searching the net yields no results on even the rifle so I may just be stuck with the open sites.

Well, you got a heck of a deal. If they have any more, you ought to buy them all. I don't think they are imported any more, probably because they USUALLY cost more than NEF rifles.

BRNO uses a special one-piece scope mount, as you thought. I have seen scopes attached to BRNOs with mounts designed for rimfire rifles, and in a low recoil rifle like a .22 Hornet that would probably work.

A local dealer has a couple of ZBK 110 rifles, and I think one has a scope mount. You might call Robert at The Shooter's Edge, Spokane MO, and ask if he'll sell a mount. I don't have the number, but the AC is 417.

I bet those rifles are shooters, never saw a CZ or BRNO that wasn't.

Man what a deal. I had one in 222. Never really got the gun sighted in right. It probably would have done a lot better just did not in the time. Beautiful guns anyway. The good news is I know who carries the base and rings. The bad news is they are going to cost you more than the gun itself. They make two for ZBK 110 one standard and the other see-thru. I suggest getting the standard base for two reason. One the see thru puts the scope way up high and second is the price. Enough of my rant. Here is the source for what you look for. Thanks. This is simply a re-shaped factory stock, using a butt plate off of a M95 Chilean Mauser and a Brownells Grip Cap. I used my standard Westley Richards pattern for the stock design. The sight is from a Martini Cadet rifle. Oh, and the forend is new.

You know, I had visions of doing exactly this to one of these 110's if I ever ran into one... and this is just how it looked in my head. I kept wondering if the buttstock dove back down too much after the hump to pull off the straight line or not though. Obviously there was just enough there to work with and it looks like you used every bit of it. I agree that you couldn't have done a whole lot with the factory forearm though... closing up that early and shallow radius would have left it very abreviated.

Like I said, I've thought more than once that this little rifle had the potential to be made to look a lot better, and that the work involved would be worth it.

Now I just have to wait a couple years till you're done with it and on to something else so I can offer to relieve you of it and have exactly what I wanted without the blowing-walnut-dust-out-of-my-nose part. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

When I purchased mine in 222 the other options if memory serves me right where 22 Hornet, 243 & 308. Problem was I searched for about two years and could never find another barrel. I even contacted the BRNO company but my CZECH language may have been off. (Ne mluvim Czeski dobre, Rozamete)

I do not know of anyone in the US who is able to supply extra barrels. I've even thought of making a barrel in something like 7x57R, 30-40 or 32-40. I love the little rifles!

It looks like a "mono-block" type arrangement; is it? If so, it would make rebarrelling fairly straightforward, huh. ... a matter of separating the block/lugs from the factory barrel, and replacing with a barrel cut to match the factory tenon. I guess to have a true switch-barrel, you'd have to acquire or replicate another block/lug. I wonder what the upper limit chambering for this action would be? Sure wish it had an ambidextrous safety for us southpaws... but maybe that could be tinkered with too...
