Maybe you can tell me, LW, whether this anecdote about Olivier is true.
The gist of it is that one day on the set or stage, he was doing his part so extra-well that those not in the scene with him were spell-bound by his performance. When he exited, they greeted him with enthusiastic "That was great! You really out-did yourself!"
"Yes, damn it!" he reportedly said, "but I don't know how, so I won't know how to do it again!"
"Good enough" isn't.
Always take your responsibilities seriously but never yourself.

Ken, I haven't heard that one about Olivier, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were true. I never met him, but I know several people who knew and worked with him. They had very high opinions of his talent and creativity. Plus, he was as professional as they come, from what I've heard.
