This year has been a grind with warm temps and very little food on or directly around my property. I've passed up a half dozen yearlings and a few does, but with bow season winding down I figured I better take this gimme 15 yd shot this morning. Last years buck made it 25 yds. This one made a 200 yd death sprint but was probably dead inside 20 seconds. I gave him an hour before I took up the track and it took me another hour to find him tracking across an open goldenrod field. He was stiff when I found him.

Thanks Guys.
Skeen that's a 1968 Bear Super Kodiak I picked up this summer for $100. Shooting bear greenies with bleeders.

And a Southpaw! Nicely done. Classic bow and broadheads in my book. Old Fred would be pleased.

Awesome and congrats! Nice shot and recovery!

My hat is off to you trad guys. There are days when a scoped rifle seems challenging to me, but you trad guys are taking it back hundreds of years.

Well done!

My first bow was a Kodiak Hunter, but moved up to a Super Kodiak a year later (1971 I think). Great shooting bow, I used Bear Magnum 308 arrows. Dang I miss those days..

Angus the side plate was on it when I got it. The white thing you are seeing is a home made feather rest. I made up a jig for my little chopper that I could get consistent feathers out of my scraps. Then I stack 3-5 on a piece of 3M double stick tape. I do have to adjust my nock point but the rest gives me a much more forgiving release than shooting straight off the shelf.
I've moved to a feather rest on almost all my trad bows with the exception of my selfbow and an original Silvertip that still wears the plastic Bear arrow rest like Paul intended when he built it.

Great job. Been thinking about getting back into traditional shooting.
