I’m thinking I might want to try the new 150 gr AccuBond in the Mighty -08. Does anyone have experience with this combination?

P
I bought a box but havent loaded them yet. My plan was BG and RL17. Both of those powders shoot 150eldx very well at ~2770fps from a 22”.

You can Try RL26, I used RL17 with 150gr Nosler long Range and got 2857 FPS, from my Tikka But poor accuracy. PP4000MR gave 2895 FPS

Using 145gr Speer Bt It was a good start to a load. RL17 behind 154gr Hornady Interbond gave 2802 FPS accuracy good. I have more loaded but my Lab Radar

went down and had to send it in.
Pharm. What brand of brass are you running. I can't get new Lapua that high without getting pressure signs. I got pressure signs at 51 with 120's and 45 with 150CTBT. The chamber on my WBY Accumark may be snug. All the brass I've used is on its first firing. Not sure about the 2nd firing as yet.

Good luck and shoot straight y'all
I’m using Remington brass.

What OAL you guys loading these? I've always considered using one of my Kimber 84M but that platform has mag box COAL limitations right at 2.82.

Max charge per Nosler with Big Game and the 120 is 52 grains but I saw ejector marks. 51.5 is what I use for 3126 fps and great accuracy. Yeah, it’s still a little stout but the bolt lift is fine. Tikkas for me.

Kat,
I too use Lapua brass in my 7mm-08 with the 120 gr BT. (Also with the 120 gr TTSX). My load is 48.5 gr of Big Game with LRM primers. From my 22” barrels I get +/- 3100 fps and great accuracy. I have found that in most cases Lapua brass is heavier (thicker) than other commercial brass therefore the powder charge must be reduced. For example, when I used to use Remington brass, my load was 50.5 to 51.0 gr of BG for roughly the same velocity. I switched to Lapua and found that I got more consistently good groups.

I've never been able to get great accuracy with Big Game and 120's BT. using Lapua brass... What are you calling great accuracy?
Maybe I need to revisit this combo but the RL-15 shoots so well.
Just my opinion, but I consider a 150 grain bullet on the heavier side for the 7mm-08. Were it me, I think I'd stick with a 140 grain an Accubond (my do all bullet in Tikka T3) or maybe even drop down to the 120 grain NBT or a 120 grain mono. If I go heavy for caliber, I'd probably choose a good cup & core bullet over a bonded bullet.

I thought the same thing, but started using 150 eldx last year on deer. With 708 speeds it's pure poison on deer.

140 AB flat shoots in my tikka with a max dose of varget. I tried 150 Hornady without much joy.

Kills elk dead, too.

Rem 280,
I have a semi-custom Remington 700 stainless SPS that has the barrel cut to 22” bedded in a McMillan edge, it has a TriggerTech trigger installed. Otherwise, it is as it came from the factory and it will shoot three-quarter inch groups all the time and occasionally half inch or less.
I also have an early Kimber 84M Classic that will put three shots inside an inch the majority of the time. Both rifles do this with Lapua brass, loaded with 48.5 gr of BG under the 120 gr BT touched off with a CCI 250 primer. Velocity is 3100 fps so in my rifles this load is pretty much maxed out.
I consider this to be great accuracy with my old and tired eyes. Sorry it took me so long to answer. As far as RL15 goes, it is my second choice if out of BG. It is a good powder in the 7mm-08.
