Has anyone used US869 in a 6.5 prc

I've used it.
It's make for use in the 20mm, so it's way to slow for the 6.5 prc. About the only thing it's really good for is the 7mm STW and the RUM's.

Hodgdon lists loads for 869 and the PRC on their website. MuleDeer wrote an article and said he found good results with 869 and heavier bullets IIRC.

869 is the classic 26 Nosler powder, the one you see used a lot, maybe the most.

Vv n-570 out performs it with the 156 EOL. I use 869 with others. 869 is slower burning than 570, the latter a high energy powder, said to burn pretty hot, possibly harder on barrels.

Your right.

What I have is WC868, not H-869.
868 is slower like WC-860 or WC-872

US 869 is a little too slow for a PRC. I load it in a cousin's 28 Nosler with bullets heavier than 160gr.

A hunting pard is loading H-4831 with 143gr. Hornady ELD-X bullets with great accuracy and just under 3,000 fps.

US-869 is my huckleberry in the .264 WM using 139 - 143 gr bullets.

Jeff Bartlett sells pull down Vulcan 872 powder. There can be lot to lot variation, but the jug I got from him is an exact performance duplicate of 869, same loads, same velocities, etc. I use those two interchangeably. And it's $55 for an 8# jug and he has it in stock.
