Never loaded for this gun (X Bolt) until today. 3 shots at 100 yards from a rest.

Maybe a little tweaking could tighten it up a little.

What brass are you using?
I’d leave it there my 150 load is 44 gr of 4895 with similar results

Do you know how much an empty deprimed piece of your brass weighs?

I think I will.

I have some Barnes 130 grain TTSX’s that should be here in a few days and I’ll experiment with those.

161.5 grains
I think that might hunt. Do you know the velocity?

I have no idea on the velocity. Shot through a Browning X Bolt with 22” barrel.

I shoot H4895 with Lapua brass and the 150 NBT/NAB for high 2800s in a 22” factory bolt gun. Can’t recall the exact charge, but it is at the top end of H’s online data. It was about what their data predicted for velocity. I bought that jug of powder when I couldn’t find Varget and it’s been good in 308 and 7-08 with lighter bullets.

45.5, and that's in heavier Lapua brass (probably about 173 grains) with longer bullets as well.

With the flat base Hornady, lighter brass and a grain less powder I'll guesstimate 2750, maybe 2800.
I shoot a heavy charge of 4064 in mine behind a 150 grain Sierra in LC match brass and CCI primers. I'm seeing 2800 and a little change with a 20 inch barrel.

Ruger Hawkeye, 22" barrel.

45gr H-4895, Fed 210M, Nosler 169gr cases, 150 Hornady Interlock BTSP, COAL 2.845-2.850, right at 2800fps + or - a bit.

I agree on you guy’s velocity estimates. Likely high 2,700 range. My notes show 45.3gr, Lap brass, and 150NAB for 2,875fps.

Might need a 1/4" up and 1/2" tweak to the left.

Oh yeah, I adjusted the scope and took another shot.

Lobster, look up the posts on here “130 TTSX loads for a 308” just posted yesterday if you trying the Barnes bullet. Mighty good shooting there. I have used that Hornady bullet for years and now use the Barnes 130 for deer…you won’t be disappointed, they like them fast I have found hard to catch one in a deer.

This with 150 GameKings or Partitions. They do well in a hog hunter and a 99
My two like 46.5 IMR-4064 and 150 Hornady Interbonds

I think that’s my post that you’re referring to. I got the 130 grain TTSX’s to shoot a ragged hole at 100 yards.
I use CFE223 under the 150 Interlock and my Ruger American loves it. A little over 2900 fps.

I’m loading 44.8 grains of Varget pushing a 150 gr Interlock with nearly identical results. My velocity is about 2660 FPS.

I use 47gns Varget with a 150gn Nosler Accubond. It works for me.

IMR4064 is hard to beat for both speed and accuracy. Varget almost always shoots with accuracy, though a little slower. I've reloaded a bunch of 150 FMJ's for an AR-10, and have gotten good results using W748, TAC, and WC844. The 308 is not real picky in the powder department.
