I was just given a new can of Winchester Magnum Rifle ball powder. My reloading books do not give data for Winchester powders. What can I do with this powder? Will it work in the 25-06 or a 7mm Rem Mag? Do any of you have any data for that powder?

I think it's the winchester version of 4831's. (But don't use 4831 data). It should be fine if not perfect for those two calibers. Does winchester have a website with load info?? I think they now call it WXMR but I don't know if it's the exact same powder with a new name or if the burn rate changed a little.
PS speaking of win powders did you see the test in a recent magazine. They were testing velocity and pressure swings from ammo shot in hot weather to ammo shot in extremely cold weather. STRANGE AS IT MAY BE ............Win 760 actually got stronger as the temp got colder. Some stick powders dropped 250 fps but the win got about 125 fps FASTER in the frozen ammo test!!

Thanks, which cartridge was that data for?
Thanks for the help guys. I got these loads from the tech. line at Serria today.
I don't know how serious I want to get with load development for that powder as Winchester has discontinued it. But I might find a good hunting load and use what I have on hand.
This late reply might find your can of WMR powder burnt up by now, but Hornadies latest fifth edition has tons of info with this one. Was real gratefull for this manual, as I stumbled onto a case of the stuff.
Winchester also has a small, 32 page manual that lists quite a few loads with this powder, but do not list the 7Rem mag.

Looks like it will work with medium to heavy weight bullets in bottleneck cartridges that use the slower powders, from the 243 on up to the 416 Wby.

I've only tried it with 180 and 200 grn. bullets in a 300 Win imp. It was uniform with good accuracy, but Rel-25 turned better velocity.

Hornadies specs; 7 Rem. mag 24"bar.
139grn.-max 70.3 gr. @3200 fps.
162grn.-max 67.2 gr. @3000 fps.

25-06; 24" bar
100 grn.-max 60.9 gr. @3300 fps.
120 grn.-max 56 gr. @ 3000 fps.

Winchester 25-06 ;
100grn - 58.1gr @3280- 55600psi
120grn.- 54.3gr @ 3055- 60100 "

If you need any more load info, just holler.
