Has anyone seen 225 grain 358 caliber bullets for sale lately?

I haven't seen 225 Partitions in a very long time. I've seen the Sierra's more recent, but not within the last year or so.

What he said. ^^^^^

Nada. Sierra is mostly missing in action for the last 2 years except for lots of match bullets. SPS had 200 & 225 Accubomb over runs for a long time last year. So long, in fact, that they were priced down to around $20/50 when they finally sold out. Speer 250s pop up every once in a while. Hornady 200s & 250s were showing up sometimes too at around $60/100, but none for the last few months. I called Hawk & they aren't making any of their 358 spitzers until??????? Thinking of shooting heavy cast or making a Hammer order if availability doesn't improve soon.

That’s why I’m using a 1-9.5 on my gun when I do it. Figure the 10 will handle any Hammer and they’re very good bullets in other calibers.

I do have a little stash of others I could get by with whistle

I actually thought the 225 Partition must have been discontinued. But it is still shown on Nosler's website in the line-up. But I hadn't seen it a long time even before the pandemic.

I have yet to see Hammer bullets for sale anywhere.

35 bullets in general have been fairly scarce a long while now. I've been down to my last box of 200TTSX for at least a year, maybe 2.... probably 2 😐

Due to. 358" bullet scarcity I switched to cast bullet load development, with gaschecks. Been shocked at the performance potential. Still shooting 1" 5 shot groups. Velocities 2500 to over 2700 fps. I start where the lyman data ends. General rule of thumb is to use starting data for copper jacket loads. I actually don't need anymore factory bullets

What kind of alloy and molds are you using?
Posted By: PJGunner Re: 358 bullets - 04/22/22
The RCBS #35-200-FN shoots quite well in my .358 Win. rifles. Haven't tried them much in the .35 Whelen yet but I'll get around to it one of these days.

It's up to the individual caster to determine the percent composition of the alloy. I have something that's close to a #2 Lyman alloy, but can't say for sure since i don't have a hardness tester. All i know is they're hard enough to go fast and too hard to fingernail scratch. I drop them from the mold into ice water for a little quench hardening. The base ingredients are readily available for a good alloy. I used roto metals for antimony and tin. Lead is from either the tire shop, or scrap yard.
