Yesterday I was at the local gun store and saw an eight pound container of IMR 4350 for $304. I went home and checked the inventory and I had a 1 lb can of this. My 300 H&H loves it but I rarely shoot it. My 30-06 will shoot a ragged hole with H4350 and 165 gr. Bullets. Do I need to go back and get it? 55 miles away.

That's up to you brother. It sounds expensive at first but, $38 bucks a pound. I see a lot of different powders now, more expensive than that per pound. It might be a decent deal. I use to load a lot of .30-06 with IMR4350.

It is one of my std. powders. 6mm to 375 H&H.

I use it a lot, 65 grains in 7 mag, 140 ballistic tip. 59 grains in 30-06 with a 150 partition.

Yes go back & get it. Or call them & give them your CC & have them put it in the back & pick it up next time you are thru.

It's good in anything from .22-250 on up!

Jay’s in Clare, MI had 8lb jugs of IMR 4350 for $325 plus tax yesterday. 1lb cans of IMR powders (no 4350) were $62. I didn’t buy it as I have enough, but it doesn’t seem to be getting cheaper. With gas so high, it seems more efficient to buy stuff when you see it rather than making an extra trip back.

I think a lot of us used to load a lot of 30-06 with IMR 4350 powder. Then we made the switch to H4350 because its more stable in varying temps. I still really like IMR4350 though, but only develop loads in the fall and winter where temps match what they are when I'm elk hunting..

2019 a fella at a gunshow had 4 lbs of Imr 4350 for $10 bucks a lb of course I bought it all.

My husky 640 in a 06 shoots 190 hornady btsp with Imr 4350 very well.

It's probably gone by now.

My totally unscientific experimenting always found it to be a bit more accurate in my .30-06 than H4350 with 180-grain bullets.

Good snag on that powder. I always keep it on hand and have used it in a lot of different cartridges. When I first started hand loading, that was my most used powder. Those bullets are a little spendy for interlocks though. If you can find some 165 SP'S, you may want to try those as well. I always had really good luck getting the flat based spitzers to shoot well in my 30-06 rifles.

And I thought I got a good deal this year for $32 a pound at the gun show from our local powder dealer.

Some of my most accurate loads use IMR4350. I’m trying to switch to H4350 or IMR4451. But IMR4350 has been a favorite in my life.
The 6mm Remington dad built for me on a Mauser action with.a Sharon barrel would shoot 1/4” groups at 100 yards with any 75 grain hollow points - SPEER, Sierra, & Remington.

I have an El-Cheapo Model 783 in 30-06 with 3-9. First load of IMR 4350 under a 165 Sierra Game King BTHP shoots an inch easily at 200. Haven’t even tried adjusting the charge.

Buy what you find when you can find it IF you will use it and don't think the price is too far out of line. I am an IMR fan but ,although I do own a can or two of IMR 4350 I have actually always used the H 4350 because it meters a little better in most measures. My rule is , I don't buy anything that's much overpriced or that is something I will not likely use by choice.

Been fiddling with Ramshot Hunter & Big Game but nothing really replicates ole IMR 4350 mostly just new bookends.

IMR 4350 is one of my favorite powders. 6mm Remington, 30-06, and my favorite load in my 338 win mag uses it too.

I think 4350 is about like the 30-06. It ain’t flashy but damned if the stuff doesn’t work for a lot of applications.

Rifle wise a guy could have a lot of bases covered pretty well with IMR 4895 and 4350.

I’d go along with that. I’d probably add a 7828 or 8133 to the top end and buy all I could but yup, you’d really get by just fine.

Some powders are for individual cartridges, like RL-25 for the 6.5-06 for instance , but IMR-4350 is a powder I just stock. Except for last summer's heat dome, our weather is pretty steady the year round. So H-4350 offered no advantages and larger groups.

Horrible, just horrible schidt. I tell ya.. Yeah, IMR4350 has always done real well for me too. Started out with it, and will always keep it in stock. Used it in the 30-06, 300wm, 243win, 270 winchester, 8mm mauser and 338WM. It works great.

Same where. I’ve got a buddy that uses Ramshot Hunter in lots of different cartridges and swears by it. I’ve been messing with it in my .30-06 using using 178 gr ELD-Xs. 3 shot groups are .80 inches 5 shot groups we won’t talk about it.

I've seen decent powder in stock there occasionally. Unfortunately they also take advantage and marking the more popular powders up by $20+ over less popular powders by the same maker. I get supply and demand, but sheesh....luckily I have all I need as well.
