I picked up a pound of TAC for testing in my .350 Rem Mag XP-100 center grip pistol. (No, the recoil isn’t as ridiculous as you would assume). Accurate doesn’t include TAC in the .350 RM data online, but searches yield that TAC is a good powder for it. Does anyone have published data for 180 gr Sierra/Hornady SSP and/or Hornady Interlock 200 gr bullets? I would appreciate your sharing it if you do. Thanks!

For the 200 Interlock I'm using 62.4 TAC over FED215sfor 2830 FPS from my M7s 20" barrel.

This is just an initial load I worked up that's getting me through this season. I'm going to tweak it this spring and see IF I can squeeze more MV out of it. 3 shots at 100 with a 2.5-8X

Barnes has data online. I’m getting 2700 fps with a 200 from an 18”. I’m at the low end.

Will Barnes data crossover to cup and core bullets safely?

I would start at the minimum charge weight, and load a couple velocity/pressure test rounds.

Here's a decent thread that has some TAC info:

Normally I'd look for .35Whelen data and use that starting load, but I couldn't find any data for 35W with TAC. I picked this up on another forum, use with caution:

Yes. Just start at the low end. Nosler lists the same data for their copper and lead bullets. They have a notation in the data to start at the lowest loads listed with their solid copper bullets.

Perfect. Thank you!

You might look at 35 Whelen data also.

.35 Whelen data is where I’ve extrapolated a lot of the load work up I’ve done, especially for cast bullets. Looks like starting and mad kids are about 2 gr below Whelen data when I can directly compare the same bullet weights and powders.

Bumping this old post up. I see 35 cal 180 TTSX's on sale at Midway, $37.50 a box. I've been thinking of trying them in my M7. Anyone having luck running 180's in a short action, 2.80 COAL?

TAC works great with the 200 TSX's and I have it on hand. Per the load data above 3200 with 180's aught to get it done! smile

Barnes says to use their 180 XFB load data from book 3. Pasted below.

RL 7* 49.5 2770 54.5 3050
H322* 53.0 2670 58.0 2922
BL-C(2) 57.0 2768 62.0 3011
H335 57.0 2785 62.0 3029
H4895 56.0 2771 61.0 3018
IMR 3031* 54.0 2661 59.0 2907
IMR 4895 55.0 2673 60.0 2916
IMR 4064 57.0 2663 62.0 2897

It’s all I use in my 350 RM. H4895 has been great in this rifle.

Got out to test the first loads with TAC yesterday. 60 gr seemed to be the sweet spot with the 200 gr. Hornady. Shot a five shot group of just over an inch at 100 yds. with the XP-100. Now to go shoot some deer with it.

I had a 600 350 mag since the sixties when they first came out but traded it for a lust gun, a 1952 Schoenhauer Mannlicher . That 600 was my favorite elk and moose rifle that shot exceedingly well but even better when I discovered AA 2015. For twenty-five plus years that was the best performing powder and the only powder I used until the gun left.

Field report: I'm here to tell you that the 200 gr. Hornady in front of 60 gr. of TAC was ridiculously lethal on a doe I shot tonight with my .350 Rem Mag XP-100 at 259 yards. Bullet went exactly where I sent it, in the armpit on a broadside shot. Made mincemeat of the heart and just about took the offside leg off just above the elbow. Way more damage than I expected at that range. I'll butcher her tomorrow, but that offside shoulder will need some serious cleanup.
