95gr ttsx using hunter ramshot powder,data says 65.3 gr anybody using this combo or anything close.got these from sawman from cantoment fl before his passing. He talked highly of these ttsx 95gr.

I've used Big Game with 110gr tsx and 85gr tsx. Very fast and accurate. I was hoping for an antelope hunt this year but it didn't work out.

I didn't try Hunter.

What does it matter? You won't try either the bullet or the powder, and you'll be asking about a different combo in a day or two. You got the bullets from Sawman on here? As in the Sawman who last logged in 3 months before you joined?

I've only used 130TTSX and 143ELD-X. Never saw the need to go lighter/faster.

Have used the 85gr TSX and 110gr TSX out of the 270wcf quite a bit when the boys were younger. Worked just fine on deer, antelope, blackbuck, Axis deer and hogs.

I see no reason why the 95gr TTSX would not do the same.

Before hunting seasons started, I was in the process of messing around with the 100gr Hornady CX and 110gr TSX. Big Game and Hunter showed expected velocities with standard deviations in the single digits with Fed 210M primers.

Just need to test different seating depths and groups should tighten up a little more.

Use the 140 gr. TSX at a little over 2900 fps.

Keep the range reasonable and they perform as advertised.

Hope to never have to shoot an animal the would actually catch one.

This is true.... I would say anything lighter would give up the ghost to soon. If less recoil is what your after then I suppose that would be the answer.

I remember hearing Jessica Brooks saying you can drop down a weight or two or even a Caliber and get the same results.. but under 100 grains, accuracy and velocity will suffer. According to Barnes data a BC of .300 in thier #4 manual, which your bullet at .292 is close but suffer more, max load of ~ 3600 FPS at 300 yards will be ~2500 FPS @ 1128 of energy. cutting it too close for a kill, let alone the wind.

My go to 270WCF bullet is a 130gr mono metal at around 3000fps. Most on game experience with GMX, TSX, and TTSX. Sure E-Tips work as does the new CX.

145gr ELD-X at 3000fps works, bullet is a little soft and wrecks a lot of meat.
155gr LRX at 2950 worked fantastic on an elk, deer and antelope this fall out of a 1:8 twist.
Sierra 110gr pro hunter, 100gr NAB, 130gr, 140gr, and 150gr Interlocks work too. Throw the 130gr BT in there, along with Interbond.
I am working up loads for the 130gr CX and 129gr LRX right now too.

Started w/ the .277/140 gr. TSX because I came across it custom loaded by Pierce Precision for "Ted Nugent," on liquidation, at less than component cost.

It has a pretty good BC and holds 2,270 fps/1600 ft-lbs at 300 yards.

Also have some 130 gr. TTSX/Federal Trophy Copper which is a bit faster for a little less energy.

My first foray into mono metals was the original Barnes X, 140gr. Took elk, deer, and antelope with that bullet. Was a struggle to find a load, XLC's were just as bad.
