I'm getting into the HP game, and am getting some conflicting suggestions as to what weight of bullet to shoot which will considtantly tip Rams over, even on marginal hits. One feller says 160's all the way, another is saying all I need are 140's. What do the the experienced folks on here have to say.
I slept at a Holiday Inn Express,120's tip deer over....grin

Obvioulsy it did'nt smartin you up enough.
I'm talking High Power Sillouette, and steel Rams, but I guess you never read the last sentance either.
You actually have to check into a room to get the mental benefits. Sleeping in your car at the Holiday Inn Express just won't help you.

Guess maybe you have shot metal critters instead of real ones?Care to expound the virtues of the 175gr out of the 7mm08 smirk
I'v shot silhouettes in competition alot. So I can say with some experience that out of a 7mm08 the 160-168gr. will take the rams down better than the lighter bullets.
Have you tried the 162 grain AMAX? Hornady claims a high BC for that one.
Speaking from experience the 160-168 grainers will knock 'em over from a low hit to the back line.

Have rung (lost) a few Rams that were hit on the belly line with the 7-08 but they were set hard and may have gone down if set differently.
