Got a new semi-custom 300 WSM that I am just gearing up to load for. (Been reloading for 30+ years. Just beginning with the 300.) Lots of good input here on the Re17. I think I'm going to try some. But....

Has anyone loaded a 300 WSM with the Hodgdon Hybrid 100V? I've got a can ordered. The Hodgdon Site shows loads for the 165, 168 and 180 gr bullets with near top end velocity and somewhat lower pressures than some of the other loads. Seems like a good bet. Any experience or opinions on this powder in a 300 WSM?
Let us know how it goes Verm.

Are the new powders temp insensitive?
I'm not sure if this is an "Extreme" powder or not.
I don't know about that powder you mentioned but I think you need look no further than 4350, 4831, and R17. Just my 2 cents
RBH: Thanks. I think I'll start with the IMR4350 and 4831 I have on hand then experiment with the R17 and Hybrid. I just liked the pressure vs velocity I saw on the Hybrid. Thanks for the other recommendations though!
I've loaded my 300 wsm with Hy100v .

Like RL17 , it seems to chrono about the same speed the book loads say it should.....unlike 4831 , Hunter , RL 19 and 22 , which took several grains more than book loads to reach book speeds; at least in my rifles .

Thanks for the info. Good to know its close to the book on velocities. I'll put some over the chronograph when I get my powder.
