Does anyone have any load data for the respected cartridge and bullet above? Thanks in advance!!!

Sorry I can't help directly. But in the 308 Win. I haven't found the VLD to need anything other than standard cup-and-core data as a guide. It isn't "hard" like an original X or "sticky" like a copper (rather than gilding metal) jacketed Swift.

..............Yes I do! These recipes work well in my particular rifle, but as you know, they may not in yours. Although I have more, these loads I`ve used for hog hunting. I will also include my rifle, scope, the chrono`d velocities, the COALs and my average groupings.

300 WSM
Ruger Frontier
16.5" barrel (add about 4.5% in velocity if you`re shooting a 24" barrel)
1.5-5x20 VX111
COAL- 2.880" (magazine loadings for hunting)
Primer- WLRM
Range- 100 yards (3 shot groups)

58.9 gr Varget @ 2889 fps; 0.412" (OD)
71.0 gr N165 @ 2934 fps; 0.482" (OD)
65.2 gr IMR4350 @ 2891 fps; 0.608" (OD)
57.8 gr H4895 @ 2868 fps; 0.392" (OD)

Good luck and hope these recipe ideas help you!

Ramshot Hunter works best for me.

Using a 1/10 twist they shot pretty decent out of a mountain rifle, .8.
At 300 yards they were all over the target, see 3 shots.

MathMan,Squeeze, and SU thanks for the info. I do have Varget, IMR4350, and Hunter on hand will be trying out the weekend Lord willing! This will be my final stage of testing being that the rifle does well with 150grn TTSX, Accubond, and 130 TSX Barnes. SU awesome shooting Guy!!!!!
SU: What is the reason they did not shoot well at 300 yards?Any ideas?
Bob,

What was accurate at 100 was not at 300 and we all know that
the longer VLD's are supposed to even out or go to sleep past 100 yards to produce better groups at distance. Or so they say.

Berger recommends a 1/13 twist for their 308/168's and I now
believe them. I can't come up with anything else.
I don't know what it is, but I doubt it's the twist. In my 700 Classic 300 Savage the 168 VLD stays below 3/4 MOA at 300 yards and it's not 1:13" for sure.
Mine is not a 1:13 either we'll see this weekend how they do, loaded up some with RamShot Hunter!
I load that combo for a friend of mine. His rifle LOVES the bullet in front of 60.0 grains of RL 15. I use Fed 215 primers and if memory serves he's real close to about 3,100fps.

He emailed me a picture of a target once that showed a little 1/2" cluster of 30 caliber holes with that load. He's not the type to take a picture like that, but the group was at 200 yards and he just couldn't resist. I've seen him shoot several 100 yard groups with the load and 1/2" groups are commonplace.

That is Noslers most accurate load with the 165 grainers as well.................interesting!
Heres a 5 shot group I shot today using 66 gr IMR 4831 168 gr Berger VLD and Fed 215. Havent chronographed it yet will do it soon

WOW that's doing it!!! Should be close or maybe tad over 3100 no pressure signs huh? I wonder how close that was to a compressed load.
No pressure signs. Im not really sure how close to compressed it is. It is the most accurate load Ive shot in my wsm
Thanks
Dustin
Ok thanks Dustin!
