Going to put some 270 win loads together pretty soon and I am going to use IMR 4350 with a 130 accubond. Would like to how youve liked it if you have used this?
A fine load is to start at 52 gr and work up.
It be alot finer with 60gr of H 4831SC..
Look in the book

Good luck to you with that combo.
My 270 likes H-4831sc mo-better.

H-4831sc really shines in my 270 Win. with 130,140, and the 150 grain Partition. The 130 and 140 are Nosler A/B

Pass...No book needed.
After looking around it appears more 270 win guys use 4831 and 4350 for wsm with the accubond. Maybe I should start with 4831 first.
H 4831
You might want to give reloader 22 a try also.
H4831 is indeed the big 270 powder, but with a 130 grain bullet 55 grains of IMR4350 is a very fine load in most rifles. Almost a sure thing accuracy wise.
I prefer RL-22 & Norma MRP, but IMR-4350 has always been good when I've used it for the 130's & as mathman says, accurate in all I've used it in.

I like the slower powders because they are better, IMO, with the heavier bullets & just as good with the 130's, so as to only need 1 powder.

If I were to use 4350 today, it would be the Hodgdon version instead of the IMR version because it meters better is is more temp stable.

Agree, here's a lousy 100 yard group from my Marlin XLC with 135 SMKs. Not too bad for a $330 rifle and a crap Asian Burris scope.

OLDMAN,

Are you off your meds today?

Can't you ever be civil and contribute something worthy without some asinine comment?

How many friggin' times are you going to post that same picture?

You complain and whine about everyone not being adult about things but you still insist on being an obnoxious, arrogant, pompous twit.

rl19 works good in mine with 140gr balistic tip
Thanks for the input. Its nice to have decisions.
h4831 Is good also been loading RL17 53 grns with 140 accubonds in my brothers 270 win win primers win brass 3140 fps it was an edge over h4831 but both are very good
IMR-4350 is my powder of choice for the 270 with 130gr bullets.55.0 to 55.5grs gives me some really tight groups.
been using 55 gr of 4350 with 130grainers in the 270 since the '60's.
I've used 55 gr of IMR-4350 and 130 gr Accubonds. Accurate and dropped deer on the spot. I'm now using H4831SC because I think it works a little better, but the difference is small.
54-55 always shoots real well in my 270 and the ones I have loaded for. I could squeeze a little more velocity out of the classic h4831 load but couldn't get the accuracy.

I heard that 55 grains of imr 4350 was winchester's load in there factory ammo. It almost seems like Mule Deer had it in one of his articles. Could be remembering that wrong though.
I think is what I will do is start with 4350 since I will be loading a 270 wsm as well and that is the powder I will be using. If I dont like what I find, then I can always switch to 4831.

Looks like around 55 grns is a pretty good standard.
I've only loaded 140 Accubond in my 270 winchester. 22" bbl yeilds (2750fps, 52grIMR430, 0.25" three shot group at 100yds.) & (2910fps, 54.3gr IMR4350, 0.63" three shot group at 100yds.) 3.34" OAL, Remington case, Rem 9 1/2 primer.
+1 on 55 grs. of IMR 4350.
I'm hoping to get some powder this week so if the weather breaks and is good in a couple weeks, I can finally get out and get working on things.

Its been tough finding primes though.
55 gr IMR 4350 and 130 BT or AB. 3100 fps (more or less)
