I just picked up a box of the new Barnes tipped TSX 150 grain 7mm bullets. I was wondering who's loaded these in the 7mm Rem. Mag. and what powder you had your best success with?

On hand I have:
Reloder 25
IMR 7828 SSC
Reloder 22
Ramshot Magnum
Hodgdon H4350

I can pick up a different powder, although powder availability is still a bit scarce around here.
Folks I know all use 4831 but no reason 7828, 22 or 4350 would not work.

Maybe even 25 if you have a long barrel because I find it best in my 26" 300 H&H.

Great cartridge and IMO/E the best bullets for hunting. Got a buddy who has killed many, many Elk, Deer, Antelope a Moose and a Sheep with the 7mm Remmag and the old Xs in 120 gr. All one shot kills and only a couple of bullets recovered.

We killed 5 Antelope and two deer last year with the 130 TTSX in 300 Savage 99s starting out at 2800 fps. 60 to 300 yards all one shot kills.

Good hunting!

I like H4831 for the 7mm but 7828 and Magnum are a good bet with what you have on hand
Funny that you both mention 4831. I went to purchase some H4381SC yesterday. I've seen it on the shelves (amazingly enough) for the past couple of weeks. Of course, it's now sold out everywhere locally (along with IMR 4831).

I do plan to pick some up in the future, but for now I'm out of luck.
R 22 should work also try what ya have on hand
I used IMR 7828 when I loaded the 150 gr X in a 7rm. Accuracy was excellent
7828 is the first can I'd try.
7828, R25 would be the first two that I'd work with.

Dober
I don't suppose any of you have any load suggestions for RL-25 or H4350 with this combo? Barnes data doesn't list RL-25 and shows IMR 4350 but not H4350.

I'll probably start with IMR 7828 SSC and then try Reloder 22 (unless I can get some one can point me to Reloder 25 data).

Thanks.
though I haven't tried that bullet, I've had great luck w/ 7828 and other 150s and 160s, I'd try it first
havent tried the 150's but the 140 TTSX over 74.5 grs Retumbo really rock, cloverleaf groups and under moa way out there, wouldnt use them on Elk at long range again, dont seem to open up or mushroom when the velocity drops, just my experience on one Elk with that slug
