Good evening gentleman.

I plan on loading some of the above mentioned bullets in my CZ550 rifle chambered in 9.3x62

Other than load data using Norma powders I have not seen any load data for this cartridge and bullet weight combination.

I have a large quantity of powder on my shelf that I would like to use up and would hate to have to buy more powder.

Does anyone have experience loading for the 9.3 using Hodgdon or IMR powders?

I am especially interested in any load data using these bullets and Hodgdon's Varget powder as I have about 7 pounds of this left

I have only used RL-15 for this bullet weight in the 9.3x62. I am not near my notes now but if memory serves me correct I started at 60 gr and stopped at 64 gr. Velocity was a bit over 2600 fps out of a 20 inch barrel with the 64 gr load and excellent accuracy. As always, start low and work up watching for pressure signs.

Do you have any of these powders? Start low and work up! I love my 9.3. I used a Norma factory loaded 232 grain on a nice Texas Whitetail a couple of years back and I'll bet when recovered it didn't weigh 40 grains. It's not the Vulkan but their standard bullet. It turned inside out.

I don't have any of these powders but came up with a plan.
I have two loads using varger 270gr and 250 gr bullets.
So if I workout the difference between the charges for 270gr and 250gr it should be easy to workout the difference for a bullet 20gr lighter. would that work or is that playing with fire?

I think you would be safest using the 250 load and working up.

You mean start with the max load for 250gr but load 230gr bullets then slowly add more powder? How do I know when I should stop?
Would I not be safer using data for the 35 whelen with 225gr bullets?
