for 180 grain bullets. Please, H4350 recipes only...

Looking back through my records, I came up with the following.
57.0 H4350 Win. cases - WLR primers - 180 grain Power Points
7/8" at 100 2 1/8" at 200 just over and just under 2700 fps
That 100 yard group is probably a bit on the exceptional side and the 200 yard group is fairly normal if I do my job.

55.5 H4350 Win. cases - WLR primers - 180 Failsafes (the real ones, not the ones polluted with moly)
7/8" at 100 and 2750ish
1 1/16" at 100 and 2685ish (different day)
Those are pretty much normal with the load.

These are results in my rifle (24" Model 70 Classic), so as always, you need to find what works safely for you.
Also, I have found that when I use the 57.0 grain load with 180 grain Hornady BTSPs, the speeds (and, it would follow, the pressures) increased significantly, thereby pointing up the validity of reworking loads when changing bullets.

In the past, I have felt that I saw a bit better accuracy with IMR4350 while using a grain less than the H4350 for similar speeds. My last batch of H4350 seems to want to be dropped back the grain to the IMR4350 load of 56.0 grains to keep the speed the same.

Hope that helps.

58 grains, work up to it, with WLR and win brass. Consistent 2800 fps out of 22" barrel. Great accuracy with 180 accubonds.

You asked for it, youve got it. 57grs Rem brass, CCIBR or WLR primers, and here are my results.

Try the Hornady SPs, youll get better accuracy.

Remington cases, Fed 210GM primer, 180 gr. Sierra SBT, and 57.5 grs. of H4350 are sub MOA from two 06's in my safe. That's about 2,750 fps over my chronograph.
58.0/H-4350/Win lg MAG rifle primer/180 Accubond in R-P nickel cases gives me 2725-2750 from a 22" barrel. This load has done the trick on five elk from 23 yds to 473 yds.

Win brass, Fed 210 primers, 58 grains of H4350 and a Sierra 180 ProHunter goes 2780 on average. Three shot groups average .500"ish.

Rifle is a SC Winchester Model 70 with a 24 inch barrel and a Leica 2.5-10x42.
My Weatherby ULW really liked 57.5 of H4350 with a Fed match primer, win case, and 180 Sierra Prohunter. First time I shot this load I thought I missed the target with the 2nd an 3rd loads, but the hole seemed blacker till I got down to look at the target. I had shot several 3 shot strings of different loads that I could see the holes on except this one. If I did my part with this rifle and load, mostly the holes were touching. This load has worked well in every 06 I have shot it in.
57.5 grains of H4350 with a Hornady 180g SP
Reliable and consistant triangular one inch groups or a little less every time. Loaded with Fed brass and CCI primers, seated as far out as it will go. Velocity chrono'd at 2810 fps our of a 23.5 inch barreled Husqvarna 1640 Mauser.

If you're interested: 150g Hornady BTSP with 60.0g H4350 for 3018fps, same rifle - same size groups at same POI, which is very convenient...
Check out JB's article on loading the .30-06. 57.5 grains H4350 is a common "magic load" for the '06 with 165 gr bullets. My Cooper M52 shoots ragged little holes with this charge, RP brass, and the 165 Sierra Gameking.
Work up to 57grns. That should get you in the neighborhood of 2700 in a 22" pipe.
H-4350/IMR-4350 are the best 30-06 powders available in my opinion!

EVERY 30-06 I've ever owned loved the powder with 150-165 grain bullets.

I haven't shot the 180s out of my rifles much at all. The lighter weights work best for me on deer.

Tried a few different loads of H4350 and 168 Amaxs, including 57.5grains, very poor accuracy from my Model 70, RE15 worked best for 165 & 168s. Course I was testing them at 300 yds, still RE15 worked best.
The Tikka 30-06 likes 57 Gr of H4831 with 180 better than h 4350. However, with 165 Gr bullets 57 Gr h 4350 is it.
