This is probably the millionth thread I've made about the 243, but I was recently steered towards H4350.
105 AMAX, Winchester Cases, COAL 2.75 and another at 2.825 (trying different depths).
So my question is, what are you guys starting, and ending at?
Thanks!
40 grains H4350 (AR2209) Start 5% lower and work up.
I use 41gn H4350 with 100gn pills in my 243.
Tanner - I start w/bullets as long as possible in a magazine that allows feeding/chambering and unchambering in MY gun w/o leaving a bullet stuck in the bbl.
Long ago I used 41/IMR for 100 PTs....
If I was running H w/Amax, I'd start at 39 and try 39.5 and 40 stopping there unless pressure seen before 40.
243s are not hard to make shoot, assume you have a 9" or faster twist? FWIW I have a 9 twist 20" and using RL19 put 3 into like 1/4"...it's a shooter...
Yessir its a 9 1/8 tw. I've got em kissing the lands, bottom of bullet is right at the neck/shoulder junction.
I think you will do fine - look fwd to results.
I'm going to start at 39 and just work up, I think that's a good place to start. I've seen guys go as high as like 42-43 grains.
i use 40 g h4350 out of my steyr with 100 g bullets. i could work up a little from there in my gun, but see no need.
Filled a coupla arks with 40.0 gr. and 100 grainers...
Retumbo and 105's are a match you will not believe! Use fed 215's.
Mainly dinks?
Dat was mean...but yes....
4350 is a good powder but in the 243 Win IMR 4064 is my go to powder and has always give me the best accuracy
Mainly dinks?
Dat was mean...but yes....
sorry holmes I couldn't help myself
I'll give retumbo a thunk if the H4350 doesnt rock... Looking for total consistency through the temps.
