Hey all, its been a hot minute since I posted anything here, but I am coming into a very sweet H&H in the next week or so. Its been around long enough for well established loads to have been developed and I was wondering what combos generally work well in this cartridge? Oh yeah, its a Whitworth!!!!! laugh
Thanks in advance, Nick

72 to 74 grains of RL-15 with a 270 grain bullet has been very accurate in three separate .375's for me. This was with the Hornady Spire Point Interlock and a Swift A-Frame. Same load with a 260 Nosler Partition or Accubond is good, too. It should run around 2700 fps depending on the rifle and barrel length.

Start around 68 grains just to be safe. Some rifles take 74 grains okay and others might not.

Also, I used standard Federal 210 primers with this, the hotter 215's degraded accuracy with no appreciable gain in velocity.

I like I4350 in my ,375 H & H, but the Reloader powders are great..

I was getting good accuracy with RL15 powder for both a 375 H&H and 375 Ruger.

75 gr Rl 15 and a tsx 270gr bullet....if you can see it, this will kill it, this continent or any other........

looks like people like the RL 17 choice, I have half a pound left over from some development with a .358-.375 Ruger that I did, guess I will give it a go, thanks guys.

The perfect load in 3 separate 375s on 3 safaris. Also very accurate.

Another one for the RL-15. 73gr and a Hornady Interlock 270gr.

Great thing about the RL-15 is that my 22-250 and 338-06 like it too. grin

DagGon RL15 is the by far majority vote, now if my wallet can handle feeding the damned thing, I will really be in business!

In my Whitworth, Re-15 is the powder to use for lighter bullets...235, 260, and 270 gr. But when I move up to full-house 300-gr hunting loads, WW-760 gives better velocity AND accuracy.

My brother picked up his own Whitworth last year and has been using my loads without experimentation. We haven't tried any Re-15 or any of the 4350s with 300-gr bullets in his gun, as he seems quite content with 1" groups with his 300 A-Frames.

Nick - the 260 gr Nosler Accubond and a mere 69 grains of RL-15 made my .375 H&H into a great bear rifle here in Washington state.

Sub MOA accuracy, 2620 fps, mild recoil. Sighted in at 200 yards, and made short work of a bear at a tad over 300 yards.

For the 300's, H4350 works really well.

Regards, Guy

I hear that about RL 15. I'd also add that it's a great powder in my 308 win and 9.3x62mm....Pretty damn versatile powder...It will be the first powder I try in my 375 H&H topped off with 260 gr. Nosler partitions..

74gr RL 15 under a 270 hornady is working good so far in my XCR. Plan on tryi g the 270gr ttsx this spring for shooting game.

72.5gr of imr 4064 and the 270gr hornady

I think I am more interested in bullets in the 300 grn range, I have a hot .358 that I shoot 250s out of, so I cant justify another 250-275 load. guess I will just have to tinker with it.
