Anyone use this powder? What is it best used in? I got 7+lbs of it in a bulk purchase and not sure what I can do with it.
It is excellent in the 308 Winchester, and the 300 Savage as well.
Consider an application where Varget or RL15 would excel, and N140 would likely be great there too.
I know it works good in a Garand.
It works in the 7-08 too. My best powder for shooting 130Cutting Edge Raptors in my 7-08AI. Very accurate and I get slightly over 3000fps .

This powder, per pound, seems pricier than others. Anyone know what that's about?
Wouldn't mind picking up a 1 pound bottle and giving a spin in the 7-08. Doesn't seem to last long in stores.
Burn rate on Western Powder chart is similar to H-380, CFE-223, IMR-4007ssc, Big Game and Power Pro 2000-LR.
Vv is good stuff, just costs more.

It works very well in the .308 and .30/06 with the 155 grain Hornady AMax. Great accuracy and it meters like water thru the powder measure.
I've used a few different VV powders, and besides the cost, the one thing that stood out was how clean they burn.
I noticed this especially in my SS .44 Mag pistols when testing loads, using VV N110 and Winchester 296.
The N110 loads were noticeably cleaner burning. It was then that I noticed that .45 ACP loads and Garand loads were also burning cleaner, it just wasn't as obvious with the dark metal.
The N110 loads were also very accurate.
In a 223 and Dasher with heavy bullets I find it grain for grain with re-15 and Varget Good stuff
anyone know where i can actually purchase N140? I know ill pay a premium for shipping but have a rifle/recipe for it and can find none!
Like ALL Vihtavuori powders made since 2019, N140 is both very temperature-stable, and includes a decoppering agent.
Have had excellent results with N140 in the .308 Winchester and M1 Garand loads with 150s, along with the 8x57 Mauser, especially the 8x57R with bullets around 200 grains in my Sauer drilling. There have probably been other good results, but those immediately come to mind.
9.3x62 - 250 Accubond - Ruger #1 - 22" barrel - Geco cases - 210 primers - 3.280" O.L.
62.5 gn Varget - 2655fps
62.5 gn N140 - 2640 fps - makes smaller groups than Varget.
Using it with 65gr Game Kings in .223.
Using it with Hornady 65 grain VMax in .243 Winchester

I bought two 8 lb. jugs of N-140 from Jerry's Sport Center before they went out of business. Accuracy is as good as Varget in all of my 223's. Should last me a long time. Should have bought a few cases of sm. rifle primers at the time too. Woulda, coulda, shoulda!
